What do you think of [name]Evening[/name] nn [name]Evie[/name] and [name]Bay[/name]? [name]Do[/name] you think [name]Evening[/name] is usable -[name]EVE[/name] ning? Is [name]Bay[/name] too short? What would you pair with it? I was thinking maybe [name]Evening[/name] Adelise as a combo, wdyt? Be as honest as you want please, even if it’s negative!
I don’t really see [name]Evening[/name] as a great first name, but that’s just my opinion. Adelise is really pretty I think it would be great in the first name spot. Of course the nn [name]Evie[/name] is cute. I don’t like [name]Bay[/name] at all, really. [name]Evening[/name] is more useable, I think.
I like [name]Bay[/name]; I think its quirky, yet usable…as long as there’s a classy middle name to fall back on just in case she doesn’t like ‘[name]Bay[/name]’. I like short names, I think it makes a no-nonsense and to-the-point statement.
[name]Bay[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Bay[/name] [name]Lilac[/name]
[name]Bay[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Bay[/name] [name]Seraphina[/name]
[name]Bay[/name] [name]Vivienne[/name]
[name]Evening[/name]…I’m on the fence. It could work, but then again, it could come across as a ‘parents trying too hard to find a unique name’ sorta thing. I think it takes a very specific personality to really make [name]Evening[/name] work. On the other hand, evening/night is my favorite time of the day and I always think its so beautiful. I would love to have a daughter that reflects the beauty of the night, stars, galaxies, comets…
I love [name]Evie[/name] though!
[name]Evening[/name] Adelise - Not my style…more so Adelise than [name]Evening[/name]. I prefer something more known to balance out the unusual first name, like [name]Evening[/name] [name]Danica[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Lydia[/name], or [name]Evening[/name] [name]Sophia[/name].
[name]Evening[/name]/[name]Night[/name] is my absolute favorite time of the day too!
I like your suggestion of [name]Bay[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Evening[/name] has been my all time favorite for about 10 years, but for one reason or another I probably won’t end up using it. I also wanted to use nn [name]Evie[/name]. I think [name]Evening[/name] and [name]Evie[/name] are so adorable. I love nature names, and I always felt [name]Evening[/name] was a fun spin on that theme. I absolutely love evening (time of day) and think that [name]EVE[/name] and NING are just really pretty sounding syllables. Put together, they are fabulous.
I picture an [name]Evening[/name] to be a passionate, intelligent, introvert who always keeps people guessing.
[name]Evening[/name]- this is really pretty to me. I like [name]Eve[/name] names. [name]Eve[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name] (but the Y throws me off) and [name]Yvette[/name]. [name]Evangeline[/name] is a bit too girly/dramatic for my tastes.
[name]Evening[/name] feels very old southern to me. Like [name]Early[/name] for a baby that came early, I could imagine a baby born in the evening getting this name. I also group it with [name]Twyla[/name].
[name]Bay[/name]- is ok. I like [name]Faye[/name] & [name]May[/name] so why not [name]Bay[/name]? I like the image of still water. But I group it with [name]Bailey[/name] which I don’t like on a child. It’s my mom’s dog so I associate it with that. It is short so no nickname options except maybe B. I also think bay-bay like [name]Baby[/name].
I do group it with [name]Bailey[/name] or [name]Kaylee[/name]…which puts me off, but maybe you like those.
To me, [name]Evening[/name] is the better choice. But I would use it in the middle because I shy away from really unusual ones.
To me the name [name]Bay[/name] is to the point and stands on it’s own. I don’t really group it with [name]Bailey[/name] or [name]Kaylee[/name]. I group it with [name]Bay[/name] Leaves and of course the body of water. I first saw [name]Bay[/name] as a name in the show “Switched at Birth”. [name]One[/name] of the main character’s name is [name]Bay[/name], she wears it really well
I’m not a big fan of word names, especially unconventional ones, so I strongly dislike both [name]Evening[/name] and [name]Bay[/name].
To me, [name]Evening[/name] sounds like the name of a My [name]Little[/name] Pony or something. I can’t see it on a person. If you like the nickname [name]Evie[/name], I think there are better ways to get it ([name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Eve[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name], [name]Eveline[/name], [name]Eva[/name], [name]Yvette[/name], etc).
[name]Bay[/name] isn’t my style, but I think it’s usable as a first name. It could also be a nickname for [name]Bailey[/name].
I [name]LOVE[/name] the nn [name]Evie[/name]. But [name]Bay[/name] is nice too.
[name]Evening[/name] sounds like you’re trying too hard to be unique
I hate to think that that silly show might turn one of my fave names for a boy, [name]Bay[/name], into a “girl name”. I don’t care it people use it on a girl but it is absolutely not a “girl name” and it doesn’t sound at all feminine. End rant.
If I were to use [name]Bay[/name] for a girl I prefer it as a mn. As a fn, I know it’s preferred by most to go with an uber frilly mn but I personally wouldn’t (feels like you chickened out of choosing a hard/masculine name so you’re trying to feminize it with the most pink frosted mn you can find)
[name]Bay[/name] [name]Morgan[/name]
[name]Bay[/name] [name]Erin[/name]
[name]Bay[/name] [name]Alba[/name]
[name]Bay[/name] [name]Hollis[/name]
[name]Bay[/name] [name]Ember[/name]
[name]Bay[/name] [name]London[/name]
[name]Bay[/name] [name]Linden[/name]
[name]Bay[/name] Maryn
I probably wouldn’t recommend [name]Evening[/name] as a name, thought the nn [name]Evie[/name] is cute but I definitely don’t hate the name. [name]Bay[/name] might be a little short to stand on its own but then again I have a three letter name so I can’t really complain (though mine does have two-syllables). I think it might work better as a middle name.
I’m not trying to be unique, I just like the name [name]Evening[/name] and it just happens to be unique. I really like “[name]Eve[/name]” names.
I personally don’t consider [name]Bay[/name] a boys name. Regardless of the show, it just doesn’t seem masculine to me at all. I know it’s technically considered a boys name but I can’t really see it on a boy. Idk if I’m using it but I think it’d be cute on a girl!
Thanks for your opinion
I think [name]Bay[/name] is pretty gender neutral like [name]River[/name] or [name]Lake[/name]…[name]River[/name] ended up on the boyish end of the spectrum while somehow [name]Lake[/name] has more of a girl vibe. [name]Bay[/name] is so rare I think it works well on either one. Plus [name]Bailey[/name] (a more familiar name that the average person might associate [name]Bay[/name] with) is also gender neutral.
So pretty much I don’t think [name]Bay[/name] could ever end up ‘stolen’ by the girls cause I don’t think the boys own it now.
[name]Bay[/name] is completely unisex for me, I like it for either a boy or a girl, it really depends on the middle name. [name]Bay[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] is great and so is [name]Bay[/name] [name]Audrey[/name]. It goes either way.
[name]Evening[/name] is more feminine to me, probably because of the [name]Eve[/name]- part. That’s why I don’t like it with [name]Bay[/name], giving one girl a (to me) gender neutral name and giving the other a more feminine one (especially if you’re using [name]Eve[/name] as a nn, a decidedly feminine name) has potential for trouble. [name]Bay[/name] wouldn’t have a nn to fall back on either.
[name]Evening[/name] and [name]Bryony[/name] would make a better sibset, called [name]Eve[/name]/[name]Evie[/name] and [name]Bay[/name]
Some middle name options: (I was going to suggest [name]Bay[/name] [name]Leonora[/name], but it sounded like [name]Bailey[/name] [name]Annora[/name] :S)
[name]Bay[/name] [name]Louisa[/name], [name]Bay[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Bay[/name] [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Bay[/name] [name]Helena[/name], [name]Bay[/name] [name]Augusta[/name], [name]Bay[/name] [name]Doveva[/name], [name]Bay[/name] [name]Andromeda[/name], [name]Bay[/name] Cosmina, [name]Bay[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Bay[/name] [name]Frances[/name], [name]Bay[/name] [name]Imelda[/name], [name]Bay[/name] [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Bay[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Bay[/name] [name]Marjorie[/name], [name]Bay[/name] [name]Ottilie[/name], [name]Bay[/name] [name]Regina[/name], [name]Bay[/name] [name]Susanna[/name], [name]Bay[/name] [name]Valentine[/name].
[name]Evening[/name] [name]Adele[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Cecile[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Diana[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Felicity[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Greer[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Hanna[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Juno[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Lydia[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Meryl[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Odessa[/name], [name]Evening[/name] Pieta, [name]Evening[/name] [name]Quenell[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Roseanna[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Thalassa[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name].
I kind of like [name]Evening[/name]. And I think it sounds more feminine than [name]Bay[/name] (I think the traditional argument is that word names are all unisex, but to me, some still sound more feminine than others). Plus, the nn [name]Evie[/name] is pretty darling.
I like [name]Evening[/name] [name]Anne[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Theresa[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Sylvia[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Cora[/name], [name]Evening[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]…
I like [name]Evening[/name], [name]Bay[/name] not so much. [name]Evening[/name] has a pretty sound to it and I love evenings. I don’t really like any names starting with B or containing B, so it’s the letter in itself I don’t like I guess. I really like @dearest’s suggestion of [name]Evening[/name] [name]Adele[/name], so very pretty!
[name]Evening[/name] is a GP of mine. I find it really beautiful and soft and exotic. The nn [name]Evie[/name] is also very cute.
[name]Bay[/name] isn’t a favorite of mine but it is nice and I’d like to meet a little girl named [name]Bay[/name].
[name]Evening[/name] has been one of my favourite names since childhood but when I told hubby he just laughed in my face! If you really loved it then maybe you could use it as a middle name? [name]Eve[/name]/[name]Evie[/name] are beautiful nicknames as well though I am a bit biased as I have a niece name [name]Evie[/name]! On the other hand [name]Bay[/name] is a fresh & quirky name.
No matter which one you choose you can’t go wrong! I also adore your combonation [name]Evening[/name] Adelise. Have you considered [name]Annaliese[/name]/[name]Adeline[/name] as a middle name?
Didn’t say you were trying to unique, but that’s the impression many will get upon meeting a little [name]Evening[/name]
I don’t consider [name]Bay[/name] a boy’s name either, LOL. [name]Nor[/name] is it a girl’s name. Many of my favorite “names” are just words. What I hate is when words become “boy names” or “girl names” and then people criticize you for using it on the “wrong” gender (especially for using a “feminine” name for a boy). [name]Bay[/name] doesn’t sound at all feminine to me. I also don’t think [name]Linden[/name], [name]Lotus[/name], or [name]Sage[/name] sound feminine but obviously looking at my signature that isn’t a problem for me. I guess I just don’t need to justify using a name for a girl by calling it “feminine” or “girly” (not saying that’s what you’re doing)
