Do you like the name Mechtilde?

An unusual name, similar to [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] but sort of more romantic and clunky.

I envisage the nickname [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] or [name_f]Katy[/name_f]

Not a fan, sorry. I think it looks really clunky and unappealing. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is much nicer.

I’m not sure I’d choose it but it has an interesting sound. Perhaps it could grow on me

I’m honestly not even sure how to pronounce it. MEK-tilde? MECH-tilde? Me-[name_m]TEEL[/name_m]? Mech-[name_m]TEEL[/name_m]?

I wouldn’t go for it.

Leave this in the Middle Ages.

It is clumky…but I love [name_f]Clothilde[/name_f]!

What about [name_f]Matilde[/name_f]? It’s a variant of [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] used in Portuguese, Spanish and Italian.

I can’t say I’m keen on [name_f]Mechtilde[/name_f]. I’m not entirely sure how to say it without it sounding so clunky, heavy and harsh (MEKT-ild). I feel like if you had a strong [name_m]German[/name_m] connection to the name, Mechthilde might make for a nice middle name, however, I just don’t think it works so well as a first.

I would greatly prefer [name_f]Mathilda[/name_f]/[name_f]Mathilde[/name_f].

I personally don’t like this name no.
It doesn’t sound nice

Not a big fan, reminds me of the word mechanic and feels a little clunky
