Recently I have been loving the name [name_f]Vada[/name_f] I think it’s very cute, sweet and a simply adorable name. I would consider using this on my future child. What do you guys think of the name [name_f]Vada[/name_f]?
And for a middle name I think [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] goes very well. What do you guys think of that?
(Before you all ask yes the 1991 film [name_f]My[/name_f] Girl was a bit of an influence)
But I love the name [name_f]Vada[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]!
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you?
[name_f]Vada[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] feels very mature. I think it’s really nice, though I would personally pair [name_f]Vada[/name_f] with something playful like [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] or [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]. Still, [name_f]Vada[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is an appealing combo.
[name_f]Vada[/name_f]…sounds a little villian name to me. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t ask me why! Lol.
I think with [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], a softer name like [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_f]Vira[/name_f], or [name_f]Giada[/name_f] (Jah-da) would go nicely.
I really like [name_f]Vada[/name_f]! And I love [name_f]My[/name_f] Girl
oh, I quite like it! I also love [name_f]Vala[/name_f], [name_f]Vana[/name_f] and [name_f]Varda[/name_f] (which are all sadly never to be used by me since my own name starts with Va- as well… oh well then). I also like it in the combo with [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].
I prefer [name_u]Vida[/name_u] over [name_f]Vada[/name_f].
I prefer the [name_f]Veda[/name_f] spelling (pronounced “VAY-dah”) but I do like the name. [name_f]Vada[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is ok but I think I would choose something a little more whimsical for the middle name. Lerenard suggested [name_f]Vada[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] which would be lovely.
I do! I prefer the [name_f]Veda[/name_f] spelling, but [name_f]Vada[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is fabulous!
Sorry, but [name_f]Vada[/name_f] reminds me too much of Darth Vader- it sounds exactly the same as Vader. I can see the appeal, but that ruins it for me (and I love [name_f]Star[/name_f] Wars). Honestly, that is the association 99.9% of the population will have when she says her name, and they will most likely spell in Vader too and think you’ve named her after a Star Wars character. Maybe [name_u]Valo[/name_u] or [name_u]Vida[/name_u] would be a good alternative?
I don’t like it, reminds me of Darth Vader with a [name_m]Boston[/name_m] accent
[name_f]My[/name_f] Girl was [name_f]Veda[/name_f]. I’d pronounce [name_f]Vada[/name_f] like Dada (Vah-dah). [name_f]Veda[/name_f] is ok, but I prefer [name_f]Vita[/name_f], meaning ‘life’.
No, sorry. I don’t. I knew a girl called Vadah, she was absolutely horrible and chavvy (scummy/trashy). Really didn’t like her and her family were thugs and intimidating. It’s the only association I have with the name, I should really watch [name_f]My[/name_f] Girl to change that!
@rkrd: [name_f]My[/name_f] Girl was actually [name_f]Vada[/name_f], pr. Vay-duh.
I love it. Simple, classic and I picture a precocious little girl like in MG of course.
Never even heard mention of the silly Darth association til nameberry.
I love the name [name_f]Vada[/name_f] but would personally spell it [name_f]Veda[/name_f]. I considered using it as a middle name with [name_u]Everly[/name_u] once upon a time as well.
I love the mn [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] as well (slightly biased!)…may come up a little with some diehard [name_f]My[/name_f] Girl fans (I’m not sure there are many apart from me though :P) but they do go really well together so I say go for it!
I’m not sure if I’m pronouncing it right, but my mind instantly went to Darth [name_f]Vada[/name_f].
I’m sorry, but I think of Darth Vadar. Otherwise it flows nicely with [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] but I can’t get away from the [name_f]Star[/name_f] Wars association.
LOL. That was unfortunately my first reaction, and I usually love names off the beaten path, as it were. It’s only one letter off, so I think you/your daughter might get a lot of that. It does sound like a villain name to me.
However, if you’re absolutely in love with the name and don’t want to give it up, I do agree that you need a more frivolous or feminine middle. I personally love [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] as well.
I love the name [name_f]Vada[/name_f], and the Darth Vader connection (hubby loves star wars) but to most people in the US they absolutely do not sound the same. I see how in some accents they would, but Vader pronounces the R and [name_f]Vada[/name_f] doesn’t have an R. I think it would be cute on a little girl and would age well. I also love [name_f]My[/name_f] Girl (who doesn’t!).
