[name]Alyssa[/name] is on our short list.
[name]Lauren[/name] appeals too.
I know a little [name]Daniella[/name]- it really grew on me. Probably wouldn’t use it as my BFF is [name]Danielle[/name].
I know a few little [name]Holly[/name]'s, a [name]Jessica[/name] (NMS at all) and a little [name]Melissa[/name] (I rather like [name]Melissa[/name]).
A friend has a [name]Jacqueline[/name] nn [name]Jacquie[/name] so wouldn’t use it.
[name]Emma[/name]… classic always around.
[name]Alicia[/name] I like- but a friend has a little [name]Alicia[/name], so wouldn’t use it.
[name]Katherine[/name] NMS
[name]Kate[/name] Like- know a 3yo [name]Kate[/name].

Nope, none of them

I don’t love any of those names, but I don’t see anything wrong with them if someone liked one. Also, since there are a lot of family members with those names, I think it would be nice to use something like that in the middle spot if it is honoring someone close.

I don’t love any of them, and I wouldn’t use them, but I do like many of them. I think [name]Jessica[/name], [name]Emma[/name], and [name]Alicia[/name] are very nice names despite their dated-ness. [name]Katherine[/name] will never seem dated, and while I have encountered hoards of Kates my age, I think the name is still quite timeless.

That is fascinating almost everyone has voted for the timeless [name]Katherine[/name] and [name]Emma[/name]. I thought people would think that [name]Emma[/name] was way overused as well as dated, and some of the others that I would prefer hardly got a vote.

rollo

I would use [name]Emma[/name], [name]Holly[/name], and [name]Katherine[/name].

[name]Jessica[/name]/[name]Jessie[/name] - I like [name]Jessica[/name], not sure enough to use it though.
[name]Emma[/name] - classic, would make a nice middle
[name]Danielle[/name] - nice name but not sure I’d use it as I’ve got bad asscociations with a [name]Danielle[/name]
[name]Alyssa[/name] - Never liked this name
[name]Melissa[/name] - Ok, wouldn’t use it though
[name]Lauren[/name] - I know too many of them to use it
[name]Katherine[/name]/[name]Kate[/name] - [name]Katherine[/name]'s on my list
[name]Holly[/name] - I like this, might consider it
[name]Jacquelyn[/name]/[name]Jacqueline[/name]/[name]Jaclyn[/name] - Can’t use as it’s in the family, plus it’s not really my style.
[name]Alicia[/name] - not a fan

I’d use [name]Kate[/name] or maybe [name]Emma[/name]. The rest seem really dated to me. I can see [name]Jacqueline[/name] making a comeback soon, what with the popularity of [name]Madeleine[/name], [name]Adeline[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name], etc.

I think [name]Jessica[/name] will make a major comeback in 20-30 years. I would never use it because it was SO overused in the 70s and 80s, but I think its sound is appealing. [name]Katherine[/name] is classic, as is [name]Emma[/name]. I personally love [name]Danielle[/name] (nn [name]Dani[/name]) for a little girl.

I’d consider [name]Lauren[/name], but that’s pretty much it… though I love [name]Catharine[/name] with this spelling, too.

My favorite popular names from my era are probably [name]Heather[/name] and [name]Megan[/name], but from this list I chose:

[name]Jessica[/name] - I have a good friend with this name (not surprising, given that it was #1 the year she and I were born!) and would like it as a middle
[name]Lauren[/name] - I always knew more Lauras, which may be why I still like [name]Lauren[/name]. [name]Laurel[/name] is less overused, but I think I prefer [name]Lauren[/name].
[name]Holly[/name] - Never know enough Hollys to associate it with the '80s, but it’s nice.
[name]Melissa[/name] - Still pretty, but I’ve liked [name]Melisende[/name]/[name]Melisande[/name] ever since I read the history of the Crusades and it hasn’t been overused - yet.

I am beyond sick of [name]Katherine[/name] (especially with the K spelling) and [name]Kate[/name], and probably have been for most of my life - no offense intended toward the [name]Kate[/name]-brigade of Nameberry.

I’m not fond of [name]Alicia[/name] and [name]Alyssa[/name], either - I prefer [name]Allison[/name] (also very popular for girls of my era!).

As someone who was naming babies in your era I love most of these names and of course [name]Jacquelyn[/name] in particular but also [name]Danielle[/name] and [name]Melissa[/name] which I think are super pretty. Does anyone else love these names too?

I love [name]Katharine[/name] and [name]Holly[/name], I also like [name]Danielle[/name]… But it is my middle name ha. I considered holly for my daughter, and one of our middle name options was [name]Cate[/name].

I don’t like [name]Danielle[/name] much, but I think [name]Melissa[/name] is gorgeous. If I’d never heard it before (i.e. if it wasn’t so dated), I’d use it in a flash just based on the sound/look.

I am also one of the few on here who finds [name]Katherine[/name] and [name]Kate[/name] beyond dull.

I love [name]Emma[/name] and could imagine naming a girl [name]Emma[/name]. And maybe [name]Katherine[/name] as a middle name.
[name]Emma[/name] was my grandmother’s name and [name]Katherine[/name] is the long version of my first name.

Nope. The only one I’d consider would be [name]Katherine[/name], only as a middle name, but I’m a [name]Kaitlin[/name] and my older sister is [name]Cathryn[/name] so it would be very confusing. They’re lovely names, just not ones I like or would use.

I love [name]Holly[/name]! I would use it on my future daughter.

[name]Kate[/name] and [name]Jaqueline[/name] are the best to me. I don’t like [name]Jackie[/name] though. All the others just scream “the 80s”

Thanks jeska and everyone else and shutterbuglove with a daughter named [name]Jacquelyn[/name] [name]Kate[/name] nn [name]Jac[/name] you have made me a happy camper.
