Do you love your middle name?

Thats so sweet!

I’m indifferent on my middle name. I don’t love it, and don’t hate it. It’s just [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]. It was my mom’s middle name until she got married and put her maiden name as her middle. I kept it as my middle when I got married, because ā€œ[name_m]Brown[/name_m]ā€ is not a name. I used to call myself [name_f]Jenni[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] during high school, but was never called ā€œ[name_u]Lynn[/name_u]ā€ with family. At first my husband thought it was one of my last names because where he is from everyone has two last names. He had also never heard the name [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] before.

I absolutely love my middle name. It was chosen to honour someone who became the most important person in my life, despite the short amount of time I had with him. If I did anything with it, I would add a second middle name to honour someone else who was just as important to me… the two died within a month of each other. I don’t get called it often now, though my nickname, [name_u]Shelly[/name_u], somewhat encompasses it in sound.

My middle name is [name_u]Lee[/name_u].

If I changed it, I would make it [name_u]Lee[/name_u] [name_f]Ann[/name_f].

:heart_eyes::heart_eyes: I would like to shake your parents’ hands! Those are fabulous middles.

I have two as well, but they’re much more pedestrian. One is after my paternal grandmother, one I think is just a name my parents liked and which flowed well. I’m glad I got the second middle as well because my first two names ([name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]) must be a very common combination on their own.

I do like and appreciate all of my names for their timelessness and nice sound, but none have any real pizzazz :sparkles:

I’m baffled. How?

It’s something like [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessa[/name_f]

I have no idea how she didn’t notice the connection!

I have one, and I think it sounds nice enough with my first name! I’m often called by nicknames that involve it, so it feels like very much a part of my name. It’s an honor name for one of my great-grandparents, which makes it feel special to me, even though it’s not a name I ever would have chosen.

My middle name is [name_f]Rose[/name_f] but I go by it by choice as an adult. I love it far more than my first name, [name_u]Lyndsey[/name_u]

My full name is [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f] [name_f]Christine[/name_f] K and I quite like both of my middle names (although my mom now wishes she had chosen [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] or [name_u]Lowry[/name_u] instead). [name_f]Helen[/name_f] honors one side of the family and [name_f]Christine[/name_f] the other, and I’ve always thought I would make a good [name_f]Helena[/name_f]. I am frequently referred to as my initials, either CH or CHCK. When I was little I apparently squawked like a chicken and as a result my parents called me and still call me chicken, which I’ve always loved because it ā€œmatchesā€ my initials.

Well, I did choose it, so yes, I do love my middle name!
I chose it because I wanted an Italian name. [name_u]Revere[/name_u] isn’t Italian, but my entire deadname was and I’m half Italian, so an Italian middle felt right.
I was between [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] and [name_m]Amadeus[/name_m], but [name_m]Amadeus[/name_m] sounds much better and I love the connection to [name_m]Mozart[/name_m]! Plus, it’s much less common than [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m], which I like too :))

Its in my username so im pretty sure you could tell what my middle name is
It’s after my grandmother, and I know that she really likes that i’m named after her. Im neutral on it, its not something I would personally choose for myself, but it sounds fine with [name_f]Grace[/name_f].
[name_f]My[/name_f] only issue is that it often gets mispronounced as ā€˜[name_f]Jillian[/name_f]’, but I pronounce it with a hard G, just like [name_f]Grace[/name_f].

My name is [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_f]Mindel[/name_f] - Earp. I was named after my great-grandfather [name_m]Charles[/name_m], and I LOVE my middle name. [name_f]My[/name_f] mom always said that since I had a gender neutral name, my middle name needed to be more feminine. I just had a little boy named [name_u]Julian[/name_u], which is a gender neutral name (not very common though). His middle name is [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], I think it’s sooo cute!

Yes I love it. It’s my grandmother’s maiden name. Oops forgot the last question. I have one friend who decided to almost solely call me by my middle lol. And my dad often uses my first and middle together. Other than that no, I go by my first. I use my middle initial in publications along with my first and last though.

My middle name is pretty bland and common. I don’t love it, I don’t hate it, but I do kind of wish it was a little more special, maybe an honor name.

I am pretty neutral about my middle name. It’s a name that was very popular around when I was born, and it’s not an honour, which means it’s just kind there, I guess. It flows quite nicely with my first and last though, and since they are both only one syllable and my middle is four, it makes the name as a whole sound better.
Pretty much no-one ever uses my middle, aside from my parents once in a blue moon. Maybe they’d have more reason to use it if I ever got in trouble lol.

I love my middle name! my first name is [name_u]Anne[/name_u], which I’ve always felt was quite plain, so I appreciate my parents adding a unique family name in the middle spot.

I’m ok with my mn, it’s [name_f]Rose[/name_f], I use it in college. I was named after my mom’s (now ex) friend, while my first name was after another friend of hers, and unintentionally named after her biological great grandmother, [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f].

It’s my aunt’s nickname. I actually really love it but it’s also a common ā€œfillerā€ middle name.

I like my middle name. It’s is honoring both my maternal grandfather and my paternal grandmother. It’s classic but not too common or boring. Nobody ever calls me by my middle name, but my twin brother’s nickname for me is partly based on it.
