I adore [name]Elisabeth[/name]/[name]Elizabeth[/name] and it’s a family name, so I’d love to use it in the middle, but I’ve wondered if people think it’s a boring, unoriginal choice (like perhaps [name]Jane[/name], [name]Marie[/name], [name]Anne[/name], [name]Rose[/name])? What do you think? If you do find it a boring/filler choice, can you suggest any variants of [name]Elisabeth[/name] that could be an alternative? I’ve considered [name]Elsa[/name] and [name]Elspeth[/name] so far (as I’m mostly trying to honour my grandmother, who went by [name]Elsie[/name]) but I think I prefer the classic beauty of [name]Elisabeth[/name] to these.
Thanks!
There are few names more beautiful or classic than [name]Elizabeth[/name]. I absolutely adore it!
[name]Love[/name] it, but my middle name is [name]Elizabeth[/name] so I might be bias…
I love [name]Elisabeth[/name]/[name]Elizabeth[/name]! To me, if it’s a family name, it stops being filler. In fact, even if it’s not a family name but you’ve picked it for a reason–you’ve always loved [name]Elisabeth[/name], you like the association to [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Bennet[/name], you love the Biblical connection, whatever it may be–then it stops being filler. Honestly, I’ve always hated the idea of giving my children a filler MN, mainly because I have one, but I don’t think it matters that much. If you love it, you should use it, especially since it has so much significance. Would you use it as a MN for [name]Verity[/name]? I think [name]Verity[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name] is just charming.
Good luck!
Yes, I do. But since it’s not in your case, it has family meaning, go ahead an use it.
Another variant is [name]Elise[/name].
Not a filler if you love it, and only a filler if you haven’t thought about it then randomly choose it.

It’s a wonderful choice. I do not think it is filler at all.
I hate to say this but yes, a little bit. [name]Don[/name]'t get me wrong, it’s classically beautiful, but it does lack spice if that’s what you were asking. I just recently looked at my favorite name combinations with fresh eyes and realized I needed to pep up my very classic choices because they were paired with other common classics. I think names like [name]Elisabeth[/name] are good with less common names to balance them out, if that’s the style you like.
[name]Elizabeth[/name] is the only name of its kind I [name]DON[/name]'T think of as filler. Plus it has so many beautiful nicknames - [name]Beth[/name], Lillibet, Izabeth, [name]Bette[/name], [name]Betty[/name]… Gorgeous.
[name]Elisabeth[/name] is great and noble choice for a mn. [name]Even[/name] if you didn’t have the grandmother connection it’s still beautiful. At least you love it, I have a [name]Victoria[/name] on both sides of my family and feel like I should use it but can’t seem to really [name]LOVE[/name] it. I love [name]Elspeth[/name] too but [name]Elisabeth[/name] is more apt in your case. If you love it that much you could make it the fn!?
I adore the name [name]Elisabeth[/name]…have since I was a young girl, in fact! I do not think of it as a filler name–I think of it as a classic, timeless, beautiful, feminine name. Gorgeous choice!!
I don’t think [name]Elisabeth[/name]/[name]Elizabeth[/name] could ever be filler.
I agree! I love the [name]Elisabeth[/name] spelling even more than [name]Elizabeth[/name]. Another option is to use Eliza.
I [name]LOVE[/name] it!! No way is it dull or “filler” !! Classic, elegant, timeless!!!
I like [name]Elizabeth[/name], and filler or not, it is hard to find another name as beautiful and complimentary to a variety of first names. Why don’t you just use your GM’s name [name]Elsie[/name]? I read above you thought you wanted something longer, but [name]Elsie[/name] has that undeniable spunk factor that shows the personality you might think [name]Elizabeth[/name] lacks.
My thoughts exactly. I don’t think any name is a filler name if it’s chosen out of love and with care and forethought.
I think it is nice, especially being a family name. I am in agreement with a lot of people here. It is used a lot, but if it has meaning to you, that doesn’t really matter. Have you considered [name]Elise[/name]? Very similar to [name]Elsie[/name], with slightly different ending. I also really like just [name]Elsie[/name], but I don’t know what first name you are using. If it goes well, I would vote for [name]Elsie[/name]. Good luck!
[name]Elizabeth[/name] can never be boring. I looooove it!
I think [name]Elisabeth[/name] is beautiful and it’s a name that I adore as well! If you love it dearly then I think you should use it.
[name]Elisabetta[/name] is a variation if you’re still not sure.
