Nope. I think of it as Biblical, though. I would find the Hebrew form, Shet (according to behindthename.com), Jewish, but not [name_u]Seth[/name_u]. I find that more [name_m]Christian[/name_m] (or Biblical classic) than anything. Sort of along the lines of [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Peter[/name_m], or [name_m]Paul[/name_m]. If I met a [name_u]Seth[/name_u] Rosenthal, for example, I wouldn’t necessarily expect him to be Jewish, or really religious at all, although he certainly could be.
I think being Jewish and having a Jewish name yet not being religious shouldn’t be confusing.
I should clarify that neither of our families are Jewish - his family name just happens to be one that is frequently associated with Jewish families.
