I know a male [name]Doctor[/name] named [name]Avery[/name]. He’s almost 50. Very well respected.
[name]Avery[/name] became popular when the character, “murphy brown” played by [name]Candice[/name] [name]Bergen[/name] became a single mother on the show. She named her son [name]Avery[/name] after her mother, [name]Avery[/name] [name]Brown[/name]. I thought at the time, it was an odd choice, since it was a female name. It has been completely co-opted by the female gender and I would not name a boy [name]Avery[/name].
I really like [name]Avery[/name] on a boy. And it goes well with [name]Cuyler[/name].
I had never heard the name [name]Avery[/name] until this year, and have now met two. However, when I met the first [name]Avery[/name], I was confused as to whether he was a boy or a girl (he’s a two yr old boy). The 2nd [name]Avery[/name] is in my son’s baby swim class. Since he(?) was wearing only a swim diaper, I’m assuming he is a boy too, but I really don’t know lol! [name]Do[/name] they make little girl type bathing suits for babies? Anyways, I like the name, but am always confused as to the gender of the children I meet with the name… Not sure that really matters though
The first [name]Avery[/name] I’d ever met was a boy, that was…seven or more years ago.
I know far more female Averys now than male, I do however love it on a boy, and I do think that it’s quite dashing on a boy.
I think [name]Cuyler[/name] and [name]Avery[/name] would be great.
I do know of a girl named [name]Avery[/name] but no boys.
I know a male [name]Avery[/name] and I think it’s a great name for a guy!
I grew up with a boy named [name]Avery[/name]! He’s in his mid-late 20’s now and I definitely prefer it for a boy. I’ve yet to meet a female [name]Avery[/name].
The only [name]Avery[/name] I know was male. I was his teacher a few years ago, so he must be in his mid20s by now.
I’ve never met an [name]Avery[/name], boy or girl. It’s a nice name though.
I have only ever met boy Averys and I have lived all up and down the east coast and now in Oregon. I am a fan!
So encouraged to see all the good feedback for [name]Avery[/name] for our new little boy! It is helping solidify the name for us and I have been calling him [name]Avery[/name] for a couple weeks now and it feels very right! I was really just wanting to hear others experiences/opinions with this name. Now we are just trying to decide if we are going to tell people when they ask or keep it a secret until his birth. My family knows even though I was planning on not telling them, but I accidentally let it slip!
We told our son’s name before his birth and had no issues with it so if a lot of people start asking we may just go ahead and tell the name. Maybe just his first name.
