It’s not exactly a “baby name” question, I know, and I’m not a [name_u]Chris[/name_u] Hemsworth fangirl, either, but now I’m frustrated because I can’t find his full name anywhere. I searched the name [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] here on NB the other day, curious about its popularity, and I wondered why no one has added [name_u]Chris[/name_u] Hemsworth to the “Famous People Named [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]” list. I cannot seem to find his full name on the Internet, and now it’s bothering me. From their Wiki articles, it looks as if none of the Hemsworth brothers have middle names; [name_m]Luke[/name_m], [name_u]Chris[/name_u] and [name_m]Liam[/name_m] have only their first names posted. For [name_u]Chris[/name_u], though, I can’t even find out whether he’s [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] or just [name_u]Chris[/name_u]. Does anyone know?
From what I can find online, he’s just [name_u]Chris[/name_u] Hemsworth. Wikipedia and IMDB are usually really good about listing famous people’s middle names- I have a really long list of those, haha.
Yes, that’s all I could find, and yes, Wikipedia and/or IMDB usually seem to know everyone’s original full birth name! I mean, [name_m]David[/name_m] Tennant was born [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]MacDonald[/name_m], and so on, as you know. It leads me to think [name_u]Chris[/name_u] Hemsworth might be just [name_u]Chris[/name_u] Hemsworth. There were no middle names announced for his twin sons, were there? Maybe it’s a family tradition.
Since his brothers are called [name_m]Liam[/name_m] (not [name_m]William[/name_m]) and [name_m]Luke[/name_m] (not [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]), he can easily be just [name_u]Chris[/name_u], right? And [name_m]Liam[/name_m] hasn’t got his middle name mentioned anywhere either, so maybe their parents didn’t give them any.
Yep, that’s what I’m thinking.
I’m not sure about his middle name but I remember watching/listening(?) to an interview when he said his childhood nickname was [name_m]Kip[/name_m] because when he said [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] it sounded like ‘Kiptopher’.
If I find it I’ll come back and post the link but I can’t remember for the life of me where I heard it, haha!
I’ve found that in several places. His childhood nickname was [name_m]Kip[/name_m] because [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] came out as “Kiptader” when he said it as a little one.
Ha! So he IS [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]! I’m glad to have that confirmed. If you find the link, aimeerose, I’d like to see it. I’m tempted to say he should have kept the nn [name_m]Kip[/name_m], it’s so much more charming than [name_u]Chris[/name_u], but maybe it isn’t macho enough. [name_m]Kip[/name_m] is adorable for a little boy.
Kristen and Chris' Interview with Paul - YouTube Found it! It’s mentioned at 4.30 And I agree, [name_m]Kip[/name_m] is a really cute nickname!
Thanks, aimeerose!
