I have 8 weeks till the baby comes and my husband and I can’t find a name that we both like that fits perfectly. The one name we both agree on and really like is [name_m]Desmond[/name_m]. My only concern is that it doesn’t flow well with our last name Spearman. Is it just me or does it sound awkward when you say it out loud?
I think [name_m]Desmond[/name_m] works with your surname. I do not find anything awkward about it. It is very nice.

I think the double s sounds make it a bit awkward when you say it as opposed to see it. It is not a deal breaker and I love [name_m]Desmond[/name_m], but I see what you are saying.
It’s not the most amazing flow, but it’s definitely not a bad flow. I think if you like the name you should use it. [name_m]Desmond[/name_m] is a great name - love it. [name_m]Des[/name_m] is a good nickname.
[name_m]Desmond[/name_m] Spearman flows perfectly well- use [name_m]Desmond[/name_m] if you love it!
I think it’s fine. I pronounce the "s"in [name_m]Desmond[/name_m] as more of a “z” anyway. I imagine at the latest when he goes to school, people will start calling him [name_m]Des[/name_m] and for me, the Z sound followed by the S in Spearman is no problem at all.

It looks amazing written but it is a little tough to say with the hard D at the end of [name_m]Desmond[/name_m] going into the SP of Spearman.
It is quite a handsome name.
