I think [name_f]Lena[/name_f] would be a better nickname for [name_f]Elena[/name_f]. If you like [name_f]Ella[/name_f], just go with [name_f]Ella[/name_f], it’s a lovely name on it’s own.

I say it works. I love [name_f]Ella[/name_f] (a family name) and agree with peacheysmiles that it is lovely on it’s own.

I think [name_f]Lena[/name_f] or [name_f]Elle[/name_f] would work better

[name_f]Lena[/name_f], [name_f]Elle[/name_f], or [name_f]Ella[/name_f] are all nicknames for [name_f]Elena[/name_f]. I think they lend themselves beautifully to nickname status, actually. Very pretty.

That’s the beauty of nicknames… you really can use what you’d like. (If we name our daughter [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], we’ll likely call her [name_f]Lola[/name_f]) I think [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is a nice nickname for [name_f]Elena[/name_f]. As PP said, it’s also very nice on it’s own.

I have an [name_f]Elena[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Ella[/name_f] works as a nn. We call her [name_u]Laney[/name_u] when we shorten her name.

Of course…
