I really like the boyish, rough and tumble mischevious feel of [name_m]Gulliver[/name_m], and I especially love it in the sibset of [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m], [name_m]Gulliver[/name_m] and [name_f]Hermione[/name_f].
However, we are very much nickname people and I can’t imagine having a child that didn’t go by both a full name and a nickname- hence my only hesitation about [name_m]Gulliver[/name_m]. I just wish it had a charming nickname option!
Any creative thoughts would be much appreciated!
(As an idea of nn style, the potential nn’s for our other favourites would be [name_f]Dora[/name_f], [name_u]Rafe[/name_u]/[name_m]Raffy[/name_m], [name_f]Minnie[/name_f])
[name_f]Liv[/name_f] maybe? It has a feminine vibe but it could be cute on a boy.
I’m also sort of into the idea of Guv. It’s close enough to [name_u]Gus[/name_u] that it works.
I agree with quirkflower’s suggestion - also, I think you could definitely make [name_u]Gus[/name_u] itself work, as it’s close enough to the name
Then maybe [name_u]Ollie[/name_u], at a stretch?
[name_f]Liv[/name_f] or [name_m]Lev[/name_m] was my thought as well
[name_m]Just[/name_m] G works too.
[name_f]Goldie[/name_f]?
[name_m]Iver[/name_m] could work, since it’s right in the name’s spelling.
Great suggestions, thanks! I particularly like [name_m]Lev[/name_m] and Guv, and I’m glad to hear [name_u]Gus[/name_u] could possibly work as its a nn I’ve always liked anyway.
What would you think of the nn Gully? I love [name_u]Sully[/name_u], so it’s similarity should mean I like Gully as well, but there’s something about it that just sounds a little…off. What do you all think?
I actually like Gully! It’s distinctive and it’s a nature name.
Also a fan of Guv
I like [name_u]Gull[/name_u] and [name_m]Liev[/name_m].
Gully seems like the natural choice.
I think Gully is a great choice and is the most natural. I also like the suggestion of [name_u]Gus[/name_u]. [name_u]Gus[/name_u] is a cute nickname, and close enough to work (especially if you choose a middle that starts with an S).
[name_m]Iver[/name_m]
[name_u]Gus[/name_u]
[name_m]Guy[/name_m]
Thanks everyone
I’m really coming round to the idea of choosing a middle name starting with S so that [name_u]Gus[/name_u] could be used.
I’m thinking maybe [name_m]Gulliver[/name_m] [name_m]Silas[/name_m]?
[name_m]Ivor[/name_m] or [name_m]Iver[/name_m] is classy and charming I think! Or even Gully if you wanted something cute whilst he’s a baby!
