Ok, I have liked this name for a boy for a while now… The thing is when it is shortened, with the last name it may sound a bit off…

(first. - last.)
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_f]Collett[/name_f]

[name_u]Nick[/name_u] [name_f]Collett[/name_f]

Does it sound too much like * nicorette* the gum for quitting smoking cigarettes… My mom brought it up to me, and now that’s what I think when I hear the name… What do you guys think?

I didn’t think nicorette at all, but I did think [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f] which is a very feminine name. It doesn’t bother me that much, but I can understand how it might bother some people. I think a lot of it depends on whether you would primarily call him [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] or [name_u]Nick[/name_u].

Same as pp, I thought of [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f] but I mean its not necessarily a terrible think. Nicorette didnt cross my mind

Same as above. I thought [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f] first.

I thought of [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f], a feminine name, first. Nicorette did come to my mind later.

Yes, I thought of [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f] too, which always reminds me of nicorette (hence why I dislike it haha).
