[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are due with our first in [name_f]May[/name_f]! We have a few considerations that we’re trying to be sensitive to, but please let me know what you all think of our list of top names (since we aren’t finding out gender).
The biggest concern is that we’re living in [name_f]China[/name_f] for the foreseeable future. We don’t want to name our kiddo anything that “fits in with the culture”, but pronouncability is important. ([name_f]My[/name_f] husband is [name_m]Robert[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] McClure… it’s kind of a tongue twister over here)
We like names that are uncommon, traditional in inspiration, but not trendy. Anything in the [name_u]Aiden[/name_u], [name_f]Kaelynn[/name_f], [name_u]Hayden[/name_u], [name_f]Brylee[/name_f], [name_u]Finley[/name_u], etc. vein is a no-go. Thanks, everyone!
Hm, I don’t know much about names that are easy to pronounce in [name_f]China[/name_f], but my favourites are [name_m]Archer[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Mae[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Mae[/name_f] would be a good nn option while living in [name_f]China[/name_f]; and I think [name_m]Guy[/name_m] is the best Chinese-friendly option, however [name_m]Guy[/name_m] has always seemed overly macho to me.
I admit I know essentially nothing about Chinese culture and language, so I’m probably not the best judge to say what would work best there, but I wanted to drop by to say that I love the idea of [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_u]Everett[/name_u], or [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]! For what it’s worth, I would love to see [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Graham[/name_m]. So handsome! Or even [name_m]Graham[/name_m] as a FN.
