Dorothy!

Usually this names aren’t my style at all but I find it interesting!

What do you think?
It’s suitable for lil girls?
Also what are the nn of [name]Dorothy[/name]?

Personally, I love [name]Dorothy[/name] even more than [name]Dorothea[/name]. It’s so stunningly vintage, charming and feminine. [name]Dot[/name]/[name]Dotty[/name] is a very-very cute nickname and I like [name]Dolly[/name]/[name]Teddy[/name] as well.

Thanks!
I never thought about [name]Teddy[/name] as a nn for [name]Dorothy[/name].
I just love it!
I also prefer [name]Dorothy[/name] over [name]Dorothea[/name]

Actually [name]Teddy[/name] is a nn for [name]Theodora[/name] but if you see [name]Theodora[/name] and [name]Dorothea[/name] consist of the same syllables “dor” and “the”, meaning “gift of God”. So if [name]Theodora[/name] can be a [name]Teddy[/name] why not [name]Dorothy[/name]?

It definitely can work, thanks!

As for combos I was thinking something like
[name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name] Cytheria [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Endellion[/name] [name]Apolline[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]

Any ideas?

[name]Dorothy[/name] was my great grandmother’s name and the name of a co-worker that I really like. I also had a friend named [name]Dorothy[/name] in high school. I thought it was refreshing. We sometimes called her [name]Dot[/name].
[name]Dorothy[/name] reminds me of The [name]Wizard[/name] of [name]Oz[/name] but also the [name]Golden[/name] Girl. I prefer [name]Dorothea[/name] to get the nn [name]Thea[/name].
There are lots of nicknames for [name]Dorothy[/name].
[name]Dot[/name], [name]Dottie[/name], [name]Dory[/name], [name]Dodie[/name], [name]Dolly[/name], [name]Do[/name]

I love your combo of Dorothy Charlotte Louise!!

Thanks!
[name]Dorothy[/name] is really started to grow on me!

I don’t get the love that [name]Dorothy[/name] gets on here. I still see it as a really old not classic name. I would feel so sorry for a little [name]Dorothy[/name] having that clunker around the lovely frilly vintage names that are so popular now. I would hate being a [name]Dorothy[/name].

My cousin named her daughter that. They call her [name]Dory[/name] or [name]Dot[/name]/[name]Dotty[/name] for short, which I like better. I knew an 85 year old named [name]Dorothy[/name] (friend’s grandma) so I can’t shake the image of an old lady. When I first heard that name I thought they were joking, then I thought why?!?! of all the beutiful names out there you pickled that one?

I love it!

I love the name but I would only as a middle name.
