Double initials?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! So my top contender for a girl right now is [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. DH doesn’t like it, but the only argument he has raised against it is that her name would be [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_m]Hanson[/name_m]. I know they both start with Ha-, but is it really that bad? I know a few people [name_m]IRL[/name_m] with double initials and it doesn’t seem to bother them much. It’s like a superhero thing, right?

A little girl at my work is [name_m]Mac[/name_m] [name_m]Mac[/name_m]. Her first name is [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] and her last name starts with [name_m]Mac[/name_m]. I think it works for her. I’m also thinking about double initial names I really like [name_f]Linnaea[/name_f] but our last name is [name_m]Long[/name_m].

My initials are double K’s, and apart from a random person asking if my middle name also starts with a K – the double initial doesn’t bother me.

Any other opinions on [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_m]Hanson[/name_m]?

I do think double initials sound very story book character-y, but whether that’s a good or a bad thing really depends on the names themselves. Depending on which letter is alliterated, the name can sound harsh, soft, romantic, sad, happy, etc. It also depends on the other syllables - if other sounds and letters repeat, it’s a bit overkill, i.e., [name_u]Piper[/name_u] Peters or [name_f]Marlena[/name_f] [name_m]Martin[/name_m] are too much for me, while [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] Peters and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] [name_m]Martin[/name_m] are fine. I think [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_m]Hanson[/name_m] is spunky and sweet, I see nothing wrong with it.

I think [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_m]Hanson[/name_m] is great. It’s not too matchy as the ‘Ha’ part is pronounced differently.

I think the vowels are different enough that it works just fine (HAY and heh). But if your husband dislikes it, he dislikes it. Sometimes people fish around for an objective reason when really at heart it’s just a matter of taste.

I think it’s sweet! I personally quite like alliterative names.

I love alliteration with names! I usually do fn & mn matching since our last name is W and I don’t like too many W names. But [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_m]Hanson[/name_m] sounds very cute.

I really like it. I’m a fan of alliterative names, since I personally find people with them harder to forget.

I’m a fan of alliteration. [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_m]Hanson[/name_m] is cute!
