So 5 weeks left, we can not decide between [name_u]Everett[/name_u] and [name_m]Cian[/name_m] what so ever… So I’m looking for opinions, which do you prefer?
I love [name_u]Everett[/name_u]! I see it as a classic that is making a comeback. Very handsome.
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] with the nickname [name_m]Rhett[/name_m]. Very dashing. Good luck!
Hey both names are lovely! [name_u]Everett[/name_u] I like a bit more though.
[name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_u]Everett[/name_u]! I adore it, it’s so handsome. I appreciate the Irish [name_m]Cian[/name_m], but I don’t love it anywhere near as much as [name_u]Everett[/name_u]. [name_m]How[/name_m] do you feel about [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Cian[/name_m]? Or even [name_m]Cian[/name_m] [name_u]Everett[/name_u]?
You can’t go wrong with either name . [name_m]Both[/name_m] are still rare but I’m definitely hearing [name_u]Everett[/name_u] more than [name_m]Cian[/name_m]. I find [name_m]Cian[/name_m] more unusual so I’ll go against the other Berries who’ve replied before me and choose that one. Personally, I can see both names for two brothers so here’s my advice.
If you love Celtic names and you have many more on your list…choose [name_m]Cian[/name_m].
If you have a fondness for surnames and have loads more you love…choose [name_u]Everett[/name_u].
If you still can’t decide when the time comes, take them both to the hospital with you!
I’d vote for [name_u]Everett[/name_u]. [name_m]Cian[/name_m] just isn’t my style.
Thanks everyone! Really appreciate the input. I honestly love them equally but differently, the worst part is I can really picture using both on a daily basis. We have contemplated using both but can’t decide which would be the first vs. middle. Lol:mad:
I would go with [name_u]Everett[/name_u]. I had to look up the pronunciation for [name_m]Cian[/name_m] and I would never guess thats how you say it. He’ll be correcting people his entire life.
While [name_u]Everett[/name_u] is a great name, I prefer [name_m]Cian[/name_m], I know that he might have to cope with people having a difficult time saying it at first, but I can’t help but love it. I’m a sucker for Celtic names.
[name_m]Both[/name_m] are great, but I think I like [name_u]Everett[/name_u] a bit more.
I had to look up the pronunciation of [name_m]Cian[/name_m]. I would have never guessed “keen”. For that reason, I would go with [name_u]Everett[/name_u]. If you’re stuck on [name_m]Cian[/name_m], I’d spell is [name_m]Keane[/name_m].
This exactly. Perfect name and nickname!
That’s kind of what might have to happen, I just hate him not having a name lol. Typically I don’t favor surnames but [name_u]Everett[/name_u] seems to be the exception. [name_m]Cian[/name_m] was going to be our daughters name if she was a boy and for the longest time it was the only name that I actually got excited about until [name_u]Everett[/name_u] popped into my head and now they’re playing tug o’ war with each other.
jtucker and pemdas- The pronunciation issue is definitely something holding me back with [name_m]Cian[/name_m]… slightly. If there were no other names in the mix than I don’t really think it would be a deal breaker. But because I love them both equally, that is the only con I can find between the 2.
It’s more of a Kee-in than a [name_m]Keene[/name_m].
But yes I agree the spelling, pronunciation issue is a bit frustrating. [name_m]Kian[/name_m] is an alternative way, I just can’t seem to fall in love with the spelling the way I do [name_m]Cian[/name_m] though. I figure if I’m going to sacrifice the spelling then I would probably just use [name_u]Everett[/name_u] and [name_m]Cian[/name_m] as the middle name which we would then use as his nickname. Which is totally an option just not sure if it’s necessary or not lol.
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]! [name_m]Cian[/name_m]- yes you will be facing questions on the pronunciation forever. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have a Celtic background? If so why not go with this connection and feel proud of your heritage every time you answer questions about the name.
I much prefer [name_u]Everett[/name_u]… It’s a strong and handsome name. I feel like [name_m]Cian[/name_m] would have a lot of pronunciation issues.
I like both, probably [name_m]Cian[/name_m] a little more, but I agree that he will be correcting spelling and pronunciation his whole life.
I prefer [name_u]Everett[/name_u]. I do like [name_m]Cian[/name_m], but it doesn’t have the same appeal that [name_u]Everett[/name_u] has.
