Hello! I’m [name]Devin[/name] and I’m 32 weeks pregnant with my 4th child (sex unknown) and we’re having a much harder time with names this time around that “fits” with our other children.
My son is Leiden [name]Dominic[/name] (LYE-din) after the city and university where dh and I met (he’s got Dutch ancestry and I took a degree in [name]Art[/name] [name]History[/name] studying all the Dutch painters), so we got stuck in a bit of Dutch-esque thing, though we live in the U.S. His name came to us really easily, though we use the anglicized pronunciation not the Dutch, which is closer to [name]LAY[/name]-din.
My first daughter is [name]Saskia[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name] (SAHS-kee-uh), another Dutch name with links to art history.
Then we had a beast of a time figuring out a name for our third child, but ended up with Aleydis [name]Josephine[/name] (uh-[name]LAY[/name]-dis), another antiquated Dutch name.
We’re kind of stuck now with another Dutch-esque name (or perhaps a Scando-Germanic name), even though nothing that we’ve come across so far is screaming THE [name]ONE[/name].
On our list so far we have:
[name]Catharina[/name]/[name]Katharina[/name] (seems a bit dull in comparison)
Evelien
[name]Greet[/name]/Margreet
[name]Jacintha[/name]
[name]Justine[/name]/[name]Jestine[/name]
Lysanne (though we’d like to avoid another L, S, or A name)
Madelief
[name]Mathilde[/name]
[name]Thirza[/name]
[name]Isa[/name]
[name]Noa[/name]
I think Evelien fits perfectly! I feel like it has that same feel and distinctiveness that your other names have - Classic-sounding, but exotic. Perhaps all you need is the right middle name for a name/combo to be THE ONE.
I think Evelien, Margreet, and [name]Mathilde[/name] probably go the best with your other children’s name but I just wanted to say that I love the name [name]Justine[/name]. I would love to see someone use it.

I like Margreet “[name]Greet[/name]” and Evelien. [name]Justine[/name] is a nice name though it doesn’t seem very Dutch to me. Also, [name]Catharina[/name]'s Dutch pet name is [name]Cato[/name], which might make it seems like a less bland of a choice.
Other ideas for your consideration:
[name]Anneke[/name]
[name]Anouk[/name]
[name]Brigitta[/name]
[name]Ilse[/name] (seems like it would be awesome with your other children’s names)
Klazina ([name]Lovely[/name] feminine form of [name]Klaas[/name], a variant of [name]Nicholas[/name])
[name]Prisca[/name]
Roos (Dutch form of [name]Rose[/name], also another one that rocks with your other children’s names)
[name]Sanne[/name]
[name]Veer[/name] (see [name]Ilse[/name] and Roos)
I love Evelien but think that since you are in the US, it will become [name]Evelyn[/name], I am going to vote for Margreet which jumped right out at me.
I second the suggestion of [name]Cornelia[/name]! There is a Dutch painting of six daughters of the Dr. Boissevain and one of those girls was named [name]Maria[/name] [name]Cornelia[/name], I think. I also like the suggestion of Klazina - cute and pretty! What about [name]Christien[/name]? Evelien [name]Jacintha[/name] is very pretty from your suggestions! I love your children’s names - they are gorgeous and unique!
Wow, thanks for all the feedback. I like some of the suggestions, and I’m a little surprised by the positive response to Evelien, which is probably close to the top for me. I thought the -lien would be a turn off. The main thing I worry about with this name is the easy nicknames. I really like [name]Evie[/name] or even Lien (LEEN), but none of our other kids have nicknames (at least not based on their names…I call them Chicken, Buggy, and Squish on a regular basis :D), so it might be strange if one did. Dh doesn’t like [name]Cornelia[/name], which was my first choice.
