Early signs of multiples?

This might be my lack of experience talking, but my husband and I are seriously starting to wonder if I’m pregnant with twins. I’m not exactly sure on DPO, but I took a test at what would have been 3w6d and got an INSTANT, dark positive. I’m also feeling bloated and nauseous already— two things that are definitely not normal for me before this pregnancy. That plus a random dizzy spell, vivid dreams, and eating like a whole jar of pickles (lol)— this feels too early for these kind of symptoms from what I’m reading? Anyone have experience with this?

This is our first pregnancy, and I’m worried I’m reading into things too much— but I think I’m equally worried that I might not be! I can’t believe I have to wait a whole month for our first appointment!

The darkness of the line will normally vary by time of day and is typically darkest in the morning but the level of HCG that appears in the urine will fluctuate throughout the day.

I got a medium dark line at exactly 2 weeks DPO as I was tracking ovulation and knew when to test. If you are far enough along to test positive, you have enough hormones in your system to cause symptoms as well. I am not saying you don’t have twins but that there’s really no way to know until the ultrasound/bloodwork.

Thank you! The concentration of HCG based on time of day totally makes sense. I’m glad it can be normal for symptoms to start this early! I’ve been feeling a little crazy this week since we first tested, I guess I’m just going through changes!

I have one set of twins (and four “singletons”), and for me early signs when I was pregnant with the twins were extreme fatigue very early on and very tender breasts. That doesn’t mean that if you have these symptoms, or other signs that could be related, that you’re definitely pregnant with multiples. When I was pregnant with our youngest I had many of the same symptoms, but thankfully only one baby

Especially if you’ve never been pregnant before you can’t tell if this is just normal for you. And even then, every pregnancy is different.
