Easy to Pronounce Russian Names!

So currently the names I have are:
Matriona (Protagonist - mat-riona)
Olexi (Matriona’s brother)
[name]Dannica[/name] (Matriona’s sister)

Are these simple to pronounce names?

I also need a name for Matriona’s mother, grandparents and brother. Her mother and uncle were raised during Soviet times if that helps!

I can pronounce Olexi and [name]Dannica[/name] but I’m not sure of your protagonist’s pronounciation

The only Russian names I can think of are the standard:
[name]Nikolai[/name]
[name]Dimitri[/name]
[name]Katya[/name]
[name]Petra[/name]

[name]Masha[/name], [name]Pasha[/name], [name]Pavel[/name], [name]Valentina[/name], [name]Olga[/name], [name]Irina[/name], [name]Vasiliy[/name]… There are loads of easy to pronounce Russian names.

The ones you’ve got already are easy to say, yes.

The Soviet Union lasted for the better part of the century (1922-1991)!

Russians are quite traditional when it comes to names, so here are some normal ones:

Males born around 1900’s:
[name]Nickolai[/name], [name]Alexandr[/name], [name]Aleksei[/name], [name]Mikhail[/name], [name]Ivan[/name], [name]Vasiliy[/name], [name]Sergei[/name], [name]Georgy[/name], [name]Pyotr[/name], [name]Vladimir[/name]

Females born around 1900’s:
[name]Anna[/name], [name]Maria[/name], [name]Alexandra[/name], [name]Tatiana[/name], [name]Olga[/name], [name]Yelena[/name], [name]Vera[/name], [name]Elisaveta[/name]

Males born between 1970-1990’s:
[name]Sergey[/name], [name]Dimitri[/name], [name]Alexei[/name], [name]Mikhail[/name], [name]Vladimir[/name], [name]Igor[/name], [name]Nikita[/name], [name]Maksim[/name]

Females born between 1970-1990’s:
[name]Yelena[/name], [name]Olga[/name], [name]Tatiana[/name], [name]Natalia[/name], [name]Irina[/name], [name]Anna[/name], [name]Svetlana[/name], [name]Polina[/name]

and russian names are very easy to say, it’s straight forward.

I don’t find your names particularly Russian. The names suggested by the previous posters would be more authentic.

Many of the ones I was going to suggest were already posted, but here are a few more:
[name]Ludmila[/name]
Inna
[name]Natasha[/name]

[name]Anton[/name]
[name]Ilya[/name]
[name]Luka[/name]
[name]Oleg[/name]
[name]Yuri[/name]

Matriona is a Russian girls name meaning Lady.
Olexi is alternative of [name]Alexi[/name].
[name]Dannica[/name]'s name is Slavic, picked by her father, who isn’t Russian.
I should’ve explained in my post, they don’t live in [name]Russia[/name], but their uncle and grandparents do.

[name]Anastasia[/name], I believe, is russian (correct me if I’m wrong) and also very easy to pronounce. I love the suggestions of [name]Katya[/name] and [name]Dimitri[/name].

My knowledge of russian names are limited to players of the NHL (and their wives and daughters). I really like [name]Svetlana[/name] and Alyonka. Made me want a russian character just to name them that. A russian teacher from my highschool named his daughter Nadiesda she goes by [name]Nadia[/name].

[name]Pavel[/name], [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Pasha[/name], [name]Sergei[/name] are the easily pronouced male ones I can think of from the NHL.

Girls:
[name]Nataliya[/name]/[name]Natalya[/name]/[name]Natalia[/name]
[name]Liliya[/name]/[name]Lilya[/name]/[name]Lilia[/name]
[name]Larisa[/name] “[name]Lara[/name]”
[name]Yekaterina[/name]/[name]Ekaterina[/name] “[name]Katia[/name]/[name]Katya[/name]”
[name]Yuliya[/name]
[name]Yelena[/name]/[name]Elena[/name]
Anatasiya/[name]Anastasia[/name]
[name]Svetlana[/name]
[name]Valentina[/name]
[name]Anna[/name]
[name]Irina[/name]
[name]Kira[/name]
[name]Lidiya[/name]/[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Veronika[/name]
[name]Yelizaveta[/name]/[name]Elizaveta[/name]
Viktoriya

Boys:
[name]Luka[/name]
[name]Konrad[/name]
[name]Ivan[/name]
[name]Karl[/name]
[name]Anton[/name]
[name]David[/name]
[name]Alexei[/name]
[name]Nikita[/name]
[name]Pavel[/name]
[name]Viktor[/name]
Nikolay/[name]Nikolai[/name]
[name]Vasily[/name]

I hope these help!

I like those names you have =)
Also a good option (if I do say so myself) is my own name, [name]Nikita[/name]. It’s really a male name but, due to it’s feminine sound, has been used for girls outside of [name]Russia[/name]. It means ‘Unconquered’, or ‘[name]Victory[/name]’. If you do actually decide to use it, I would recommend using it for a male since your family here are Russians =).

[name]Varenka[/name] is one of my favorites.
