I’m loving [name_f]Edie[/name_f] as a standalone but worried it will be pronounced [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] too often and it does feel very short. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Eadie[/name_f] is a better option? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it will be pronounced correctly more? Which do you prefer? Thanks!
I think [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is more familiar and better looking
I prefer [name_f]Edie[/name_f], I can’t see it being mistaken often to be honest, it sounds familiar enough
I think [name_f]Eadie[/name_f] will just be more confusing. Doubt it would get pronounced [name_m]Eddie[/name_m], but she would be explaining how to spell it a lot more often. I also think [name_f]Edie[/name_f] looks better in general.
Edie looks much better to me. Eadie will get misspelled occasionally but Edie is familiar enough that it won’t get mistaken to Eddie often.
Definitely [name_f]Edie[/name_f].
[name_f]Eadie[/name_f] looks strange to me.
Eadie is a better option if you’re really concerned about mispronunciations, but [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is more familiar, and I don’t really think many mispronunciations should occur at all.
I prefer [name_f]Edie[/name_f], it’s lovely. I wasn’t sure how to pronounce [name_f]Eadie[/name_f] and I don’t like how it looks.
Edie. I think if it’s on a girl, people will automatically assume Ee-dee.
Edie is familiar enough. I don’t think it would get mispronounced very often.
I love the [name_f]Eadie[/name_f] spelling, but I have to agree that [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is more straightforward and more familiar.
People might second-guess the pronunciation of [name_f]Eadie[/name_f] as it’s so much less common, and you might get EE-ah-dee or AY-dee or similar.
Such a sweet, cool name!
I like the way [name_f]Eadie[/name_f] looks. While I love [name_f]Edie[/name_f], something about it has always thrown me off, but I think [name_f]Edie[/name_f] will be less likely to be mispronounced because it’s more popular.
Ditto everyone’s comments re their preference for [name_f]Edie[/name_f] over [name_f]Eadie[/name_f]. I love this name!
I like [name_f]Eadie[/name_f] more, but I think that [name_f]Edie[/name_f] would be the better option in this case.
I definitely prefer [name_f]Edie[/name_f]
No, [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is very familiar and if someone pronounced it [name_m]Eddie[/name_m], they need to be corrected. I don’t care for [name_f]Edith[/name_f], but I’d rather like [name_f]Edeline[/name_f]. [name_f]Edie[/name_f] as a given name is one I like as well.
Edie
[name_f]Eadie[/name_f] looks a little awkward, I think [name_f]Edie[/name_f] would be best.
I know a little girl who goes by the nickname [name_f]Edie[/name_f] and no one has ever mispronounced it. Also [name_f]Eadie[/name_f] just looks a little weird.
