[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries,
I have loved the name [name_m]Edmond[/name_m] my whole life but when I married my last name changed to Edwards.
So my question is would [name_m]Edmond[/name_m] Edwards be weird, does it sound too strange ? I don’t mind alliteration or anything like that. I quite like the sound, [name_m]Edward[/name_m] Edwards would be weirder.
That’s way too rhymey; it sounds like a comic book/spoof character. Alliteration is fine (e.g. [name_f]Coco[/name_f] [name_f]Chanel[/name_f]), rhyming or off-rhyming can be fine (e.g. [name_f]Helen[/name_f] [name_u]Mirren[/name_u], both end in the “en” sound, or even [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_u]Berry[/name_u]). [name_m]Both[/name_m] is too much.
What about [name_m]Eduardo[/name_m] or [name_m]Hammond[/name_m]?
[name_m]Eduardo[/name_m] Edwards sounds more rhymie then [name_m]Edmond[/name_m]/ [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] in my ears and not a fan of [name_m]Hammond[/name_m]. Thanks for the feedback though
I think it’s to repetitive, especially since [name_m]Edmond[/name_m] is bound to get called [name_m]Ed[/name_m] or [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] at some point. [name_m]Ed[/name_m] Edwards is not great.
ETA: Something like John-Edmond Edwards or Henry-Edmond Edwards could work better.
[name_m]Way[/name_m] too much. Though I had a college professor named [name_m]Gregory[/name_m] Gregoriou. Why do parents do things like that??
I know of a [name_m]Miguel[/name_m] [name_m]Miguel[/name_m]. Of course, in the typical Portuguese fashion, he’s something like [name_m]Miguel[/name_m] [name_f]Maria[/name_f] Lastname Lastname [name_m]Miguel[/name_m] Lastname, but he goes by [name_m]Miguel[/name_m] [name_m]Miguel[/name_m]. Go figure.
I’ve wanted [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] forever
I guess it’s out of the equation all together. I love the nickname [name_m]Ed[/name_m]/ [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] and always will. I don’t really wanna use it as a middle as we were gonna use family names as middles. Thanks for the feedback, I guess I was hoping it would work as it is not [name_m]Edward[/name_m].
