It’s a tough choice! I’ve grown to like both, but I’d say [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Althea[/name_f] is pure perfection!
I really like [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]! There’s a fun, sweet, nerdy feel to it that I love. I like the strength of [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f], but I also like the energy [name_f]Althea[/name_f] brings out of [name_f]Winifred[/name_f].
I’m not a usually that into name meanings, but [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] means “blessed peacemaking” and I feel like that is such a gorgeous meaning. I also prefer it to [name_f]Edwina[/name_f] sound-wise.
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Althea[/name_f] gets my vote!
[name_f]Edwina[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] . I was just trying to find a middle for [name_f]Edwina[/name_f] today to put in my UC. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is nice, but [name_f]Edwina[/name_f] is amazing!
It entirely depends on the surname as the deciding factor as I like both in equal measure. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Edwina[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] would have my vote either way.
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is definitely my favourite, it’s so pretty.
I think [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] sounds beautiful and so classic!
As I work at a library, I know some of the popular books and authors. [name_u]Mo[/name_u] Willems is HUGE for kids, and he has a book called “Edwina: The Dinosaur Who Didn’t Know She Was Extinct”. As Piggie and Elephant and the Pigeon books (characters he writes) don’t seem to be losing any popularity, I’m guessing that any little Edwina’s may hear reference to it from playmates. The dinosaur is very positive (she doesn’t care if all the dinosaurs are extinct - she is too busy baking cookies for school children and playing with them), but perhaps consider reading the book first to make sure it is something that you would find as a positive association with it?
