Hello! I am due with a girl and love the name [name]Elaine[/name] nn [name]Laine[/name]/y. My husband really likes [name]Elaine[/name] because he is a big [name]Larry[/name] [name]David[/name] & Seinfeld fan. My name is [name]Melanie[/name] and I also like how [name]Elaine[/name]/ [name]Laine[/name] is spelled kind of like my name… She would kind of be named after me.
My son’s middle name is after my husband. My question is would her name be too close to mine? My family and friends say no and they all think it’s kind of cool. Thanks for your input!
Nope, not at all. I like the connection actually. My only worry would be that a future daughter might feel left out, you perhaps you’d have to use something like [name]Melody[/name] to keep up the connection.
[name]Elaine[/name] nn [name]Laine[/name]/y is a great idea. Congrats!
I don’t think it’s too close at all. They’re pronounced differently but made up of a lot of the same letters.
I think [name]Elaine[/name] is a lovely, underused name and I love that you want to use it! [name]Laine[/name]/[name]Lainey[/name] would be so cute for a nickname.
I love it
It’s my moms middle name and she made mine [name]Alaine[/name], and I hope to pass something similar onto my daughter. I think it is a wonderful compliment to your name!
