I think it’s a beautiful name. I’ve never thought of it as an “old person” name or, in my mind, assigned it to any particular age group. I would be pleased to have a name that was so pretty and classic and also not very common among my peers.
This is coming from someone named [name]Amanda[/name]. It was something like the #4 name when I was born, and people can guess how old I am just by hearing my first name. I like my name, but, being that I’m in my mid-30s now, I wish it wasn’t so easy to figure this out.
[name]Elaine[/name] is a beautiful name. It sounds classic and elegant to me. Another reason I like [name]Elaine[/name] is that I can think of both young and old girl or woman when I think of it. (I don’t like [name]Ruby[/name] because I can’t think of a [name]Ruby[/name] aged 20-70.) I don’t think it’s an old person name since I have a three-month-old niece named [name]Elaine[/name]! Also I have seen a thread about [name]Elaine[/name] recently. [name]Hope[/name] this helped!
I think [name]Elaine[/name] could be one of the older names that come back into fashion. I’ve considered using it for a child, but I always go back to [name]Elena[/name] because my great grandmother’s name was [name]Lena[/name]. There are so many names, that a lot of people consider “old lady” names, that are coming into fashion again. I think [name]Elaine[/name] is a beautiful name!
I love [name]Elaine[/name]. It’s actually one of the names that I’m considering. I also have an older name, [name]Laura[/name]. I hated it for a while but I have grown to love it and now I know that it really does fit me.
[name]Elaine[/name] is a classic. It may not be a name that is fashionable at this exact moment, but it is dignifed and has proven strong enough to stand the test of time.
Personally, I don’t think the Seinfeld reference has any bearing on the name anymore. The show ended in 1998, for heaven’s sake! [name]Elaine[/name] [name]Benes[/name] was a fun character, but I don’t think she defines the name “[name]Elaine[/name]” – at least not in the same way that the Kramer character probably continues to define the name “Kramer”.
I’m hearing many Alainas, Elainas and Elenas lately but sadly not many Elaines are popping up. I like the name’s meaning, its no-nonsense attitude, the soft sound and its Arthurian legacy. I knew a Scottish-born redhead named [name]Elaine[/name] when I was a child so she would be in her 40’s now. It would be a pleasant surprise to meet a little [name]Elaine[/name] as the name has slipped from most people’s radar. [name]Elaine[/name] is the solid, dependable, girl-next-door who you could trust to babysit your children. That’s the image it gives me!
