Eleanor(a)?

I love this name. DH and I think it’s stunning.
Eleanor Diana,
Eleanora Diana
(middle is firm, no variations)

We have a Liam, Elise, Benjamin, Clara.

I’ve gotten a few times that Eleanora would be too close to Elise. Elise doesn’t go by any nicknames. Very very rarely i’ve called her Elle in the past, but honestly not much
Eleanor(a) I’d likely call Nora at times

Thoughts? Would it be useable?

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] feels like a great fit with your other kids’ names, and I don’t think it’s too close to [name_f]Elise[/name_f]- especially with several other sibling names in the mix, plus the fact that you’re leaning towards [name_f]Nora[/name_f] as a nickname (rather than Ellie). [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] works too but feels a little fancier to me compared to the cozy, down-to-earth style of your other names. Plus I think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] flows better with [name_f]Diana[/name_f]!

If you’ll likely call her [name_f]Nora[/name_f] at various times then I’m going to go ahead and make a suggestion to you: [name_f]Annora[/name_f]

Would this be a name you’d consider? It blends in with the names of your other children (Liam, [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u], and Clara). It comes across as classy and timeless. It has the nickname [name_f]Nora[/name_f] or even [name_u]Noor[/name_u] at your disposal if you feel like being bolder with the nickname. And it’s different enough from all the sibling names to save you from [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] and [name_f]Elise[/name_f] having very similar beginnings to their names.
[name_f]Annora[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is also just pretty at the simplest level in my opinion.

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] would be my choice as I am not a huge fan of FN/MN ending in the same letter, but that is my personal opinion. I do also love [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] but I personally would use the variant Dianne/Diane.

I think [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and Eleanor(a) are fairly distinct and different.
You may be setting up a theme for girls having a prominent “L” sound in the first syllable or to be very specific the second letter is an “L”, that is about all I can see being an issue and it may not be one as you’ve got 5 children and for all I know this is the last so my comment here is null and void.
I do also like the suggestion of [name_f]Annora[/name_f] but I get how names can be similar and have the same syllable you are crushing on (Nora, maybe it) yet no other “Nora” names give the excited/this is the one feel.

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is a wonderful name - elegant but understated! I enjoy [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] too but I feel [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] meshes better with your kids. At first I wasn’t sure of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Elise[/name_f] together but I think they’re distinct enough

I think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] ‘Nora’ works best :relaxed:

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is stunning.

Tbh, I don’t think it’s too similar to [name_f]Elise[/name_f] to use at a push, but it would bother me personally and I wouldn’t do it. However if this is the name you love I defs don’t think you can’t do it, the names are different enough. [name_m]Just[/name_m] the starting sounds being the same would bother me (and possibly even just the same initial), but that’s my name OCD.

[name_f]Nell[/name_f] and [name_f]Norah[/name_f] are both gorgeous nicknames for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], though obvs you couldn’t have [name_f]Elle[/name_f] and [name_f]Nell[/name_f] together.

I also liked another pps suggestion of [name_f]Annora[/name_f] which I think is lovely.

For me, [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Elise[/name_f] are too similar, sorry! That being said, there are plenty of families who use very similar names for their children, I just wouldn’t do it. It’s tough because I think when we like a certain name, we tend to like other names with those same sounds/letters. There is a whole list of names I love that are very similar to my actual kids’ names that I can’t use now.

I do think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] on it’s own would work well though. And the suggestion of [name_f]Annora[/name_f] is great!

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] That’s just lovely! I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] works as a nickname for both. I personally prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] to [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] (especially with Diana), but both are very sweet.

I think [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is lovely, quite similar to [name_f]Elise[/name_f] but not something I’d pick up on unless it was pointed out so I think it’s totally usable with [name_f]Elise[/name_f] but it depends on how you feel.

[name_u]Honor[/name_u] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] would be nice, or [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f], but that’s quite similar to [name_u]Liam[/name_u]!

[name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] is grievous and [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is stunning - together in theory it’s absolutely beautiful but I’m not sure it has the best sound. Alliteration in names bothers me. Anyway, [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is just as great.

I love the suggestion the [name_f]Annora[/name_f].

I don’t think that Eleanor(a) is too close to [name_f]Elise[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are fine for sisters, especially with three other siblings in the mix.
