Both are classic and timeless! I love how many nn options there are for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], but [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is slightly less used historically, so it seems fresher.

I much prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. [name_f]Nell[/name_f] is such a gorgeous nickname too.

Well I do love both…

Elizabeth: I love the nns [name_f]Libby[/name_f] and [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f]. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is also cute but is becoming VERY popular. Very traditional, however I’ve grown onto the softer, [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] spelling. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is rising on the lists and is a common name now. I think if you used the nicknames [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] or [name_f]Libby[/name_f], then [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a good choice. ([name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] can also be [name_f]Melissa[/name_f]!) If you like the name [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], I’d go with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or maybe even something spunky like [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]!

Eleanor: I am biased towards the spelling [name_f]Eleanore[/name_f] bc it’s my name. I love it much better and it just looks more complete in my opinion. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] can be used just as a full name or with the nns [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], anything with the sounds. As an [name_f]Eleanore[/name_f], I wasn’t called just [name_f]Eleanore[/name_f] or just [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], people would call me both. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] wasn’t my full time nickname…just sometimes. Sometimes I would be called [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]…sometimes I would be called [name_f]Eleanore[/name_f], it really depended on the moment. I was also called EJ (my first and middle initials) and [name_u]Lenny[/name_u] as a pet name for fun but those were only from my friends.

Really, I think it depends on the nicknames you want, or whether or not you want to go by a full name. Both [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are great choices!

Picking [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] because I just can’t stop thinking about [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f] lately.

Both are gorgeous names. I personally like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] better, but you couldn’t go wrong with either. They’re timeless yet fresh, classic but not overused, pretty but not frilly, gentle and sweet yet full of personality.

I’m [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]) and my middle name is [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] - you could do both? Both great strong, but still feminine names. I voted [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] as I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] as my name.

I third this lol!
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] feels over done. [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is gorgeous. But [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]/NN [name_f]Nell[/name_f] is just so charming.

My grandmama was [name_f]Eleanore[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]! I’m named after her but my middle name isn’t [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
