Elena, Alaina, Alayna, or Elayna?

Hello everyone, me again. Still weighing my options for a full name for [name_f]Mila[/name_f]. I feel like I’m getting closer but still not quite there yet so I’ve returned to ask for your opinions (again). I really want the name to flow well, but I also don’t want to forfeit names I love for “filler” names to make the combo flow, if that makes sense. So I was thinking about [name_f]Elena[/name_f].

[name_f]Elena[/name_f] was a top contender for a first name before we settled on [name_f]Mila[/name_f]. I preferred the [name_f]Elaina[/name_f] spelling, he hated it. He prefers the [name_f]Elena[/name_f] spelling, I still see [name_f]Ellen[/name_f]. I feel like I love the way the name sounds more than the way it looks. When we chose [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f] for a middle name, I thought “well, that’s it then. It’s too repetitive to use [name_f]El[/name_f]- and [name_f]El[/name_f]- in the middle” but I recently saw a baby’s name on here that did just that and I really liked it. Also, the pronunciation of [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f], while beginning the same on paper, actually sound very different, with the emphasis of [name_f]Elena[/name_f] on the -lay not the [name_f]El[/name_f]-. So maybe it does flow?

[name_f]My[/name_f] second thought was that [name_f]Alaina[/name_f] sounds very similar and I love the way it looks on paper. I don’t know if he’d go for it as he didn’t like [name_f]Elaina[/name_f] (to him–and now to me because now I can’t unsee it–it looks very like [name_f]Elaine[/name_f], which we aren’t fans of). But I feel like this might flow even better, especially when read on paper?

So I’m thinking about

[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f] vs.
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Alaina[/name_f] [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f]

I’ve also considered [name_f]Alayna[/name_f] and [name_f]Elayna[/name_f] but I’m just not sure. [name_f]Do[/name_f] they look made up or mess with the style of the combo?

Which do you prefer? [name_f]Do[/name_f] they flow in your opinion (I’ve been over so many names now it’s getting harder and harder for me to tell what sounds good anymore)? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any suggestions?

Thanks again!

Mila [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f] is pretty and I prefer that spelling

I prefer [name_f]Elena[/name_f] because I have a friend named [name_f]Alayna[/name_f] and people consistently spell her name wrong. As well, I like the nickname [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
best wishes x

I love [name_f]Elena[/name_f]. If you wish to change up the letter A endings on all three, [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f] [name_f]Eleni[/name_f] would be pretty too.

I prefer [name_f]Elena[/name_f], but I do think that two [name_f]El[/name_f]- names is repetitive.

[name_f]Elena[/name_f] doesn’t look at all like [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] to me, for what it’s worth! I think it’s the most beautiful spelling visually and looks the best with the other two names. If it were a first name I’d be cautious on the grounds of pronunciation, as you’d be bound to get eh-LEE-nuh from some people, but for a middle name it’s less of an issue. [name_f]Elena[/name_f] has the most elegant and timeless vibe of all the variants, it reminds me of pearls and satin fabric and moonlight.

[name_f]Elaina[/name_f] is very pretty too, has more of a southern flair and reminds me of daisies and sunflowers. I think [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Elaina[/name_f] [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f] is too heavy on the Is though, especially when you already have multiple Ls and multiple As. [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f] looks much better.

As for [name_f]Alaina[/name_f], [name_f]Alayna[/name_f] and [name_f]Elayna[/name_f], they all seem a little too kree8tyveleigh spelled to my eye. That’s personal preference though.

I also don’t love the -A ending on [name_f]Mila[/name_f] flowing into an A- beginning on [name_f]Alaina[/name_f] or [name_f]Alayna[/name_f].

[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Alayna[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f]

The a-e looks better, imho.

I’d go for [name_f]Elena[/name_f] over all the others.

[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f] is beautiful - timeless, regal and elegant! It flows pretty well. I find the [name_f]El[/name_f]-[name_f]El[/name_f] to be quite charming actually, probably because the two [name_f]El[/name_f] names are broken up by difference in syllables and the hard consonants in [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f] give it a totally different feeling to [name_f]Elena[/name_f].

Okay I’ve rambled enough! Overall, love
