We’ve really been struggling to name our little girl. We’ve had [name_f]Elena[/name_f] picked out for sometime, but I don’t feel completely settled on it like I did with my other DD names.
We like both [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] because they work well in both Spanish and [name_f]English[/name_f]. We are also not bothered by popularity.
Which do you prefer of the two? Middle name will be [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] I like all pronunciations of this name. Personally not a fan of the uh-lay-nuh pronunciation of [name_f]Elena[/name_f]. I like if as El-en-uh but it’s not my favourite.
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is stunning
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] would be my pick, it’s so lovely! Feminine but not too frilly, feels both contemporary and classic.
I don’t personally love the ‘loo-see-uh’ pn of [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], it reads as ‘loo-chee-uh’ in my head and the other way feels wrong somehow. Like a fussy version of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] rather than a name in its own right.
I think both [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] sound super cute! [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f] are both on our shortlist [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] (with the pronunciation you chose)! I think it flows well, and I can just see it getting a ton of compliments because it sounds fresh, yet still timeless and elegant
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] has the better flow, I think. [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] is pretty but I prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f], but that’s just me.
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f], 100 percent!
I read [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] as loo-chee-uh, and like @persephonescrown mentioned, the Loo-see-uh pronunciation does feel like a fussy version of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is also lovely, but if it’s names that work in [name_f]English[/name_f] and Spanish that you’re looking for… (not 100 percent sure on all of these, but)
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Sofia[/name_f]
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Camila[/name_f]
[name_f]Angelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Adela[/name_f]
[name_f]Liliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Jacinta[/name_f] / [name_f]Jacinda[/name_f]
[name_f]Alicia[/name_f]
[name_u]Elisa[/name_u]
[name_f]Ana[/name_f]
[name_f]Theresa[/name_f] / [name_f]Teresa[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] / [name_f]Beatriz[/name_f] “Betty”
[name_f]Estella[/name_f]
[name_f]Jada[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] these help!
But overall, I love [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
I really love [name_f]Elena[/name_f], it feels a little less trendy and more subtle. And I love the flow of [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
