I recently read a book with a main character [name_m]Elian[/name_m] and I really liked it for a boy. [name_m]How[/name_m] would you pronounce [name_m]Elian[/name_m]?
“EH-lee-an” or “EH-lee-o(n)” (imagine a [name_m]French[/name_m] accent for the latter). I really like it too.
I thought of it as EH-lee-an but because it’s apparently the Dutch version of [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], i thought it might be pronounced like [name_m]Eli[/name_m]-an?
I’d say [name_f]EL[/name_f]-ee-uhn, like Elyan, the Arthurian knight. I’m not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be said though.
I only know the name in Spanish because of [name_m]Elian[/name_m] Gonzalez so I would pronounce it as Eh-lee-an
This one is on my own list too! I pronounce it EH-lee-ahn.
I would pronounce it like [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] ([name_f]Ell[/name_f]-ee-an)
Thanks for the responses, it looks like most people think it’s Eh-lee-an or something similar.
Same here!
