I’ve always had [name]Elias[/name] somewhere on my list, but never at the top. However, I’m starting to seriously consider it for this baby. What do you think of it? What would you pair with it (either from my listed favorites or your own suggestion)? What other nn options are there besides [name]Eli[/name], if any?
Other names I like/love:
[name]Apollo[/name]
[name]Tristan[/name]
[name]Leonidas[/name]/[name]Leopold[/name]
[name]Darius[/name]
[name]Henry[/name]
[name]Lysander[/name]
[name]Quentin[/name]
[name]Milo[/name] - but can’t use it
[name]Rowan[/name]
I have [name]Elias[/name] on my own list and think it is a great name. To be honest, I’m not a fan of [name]Eli[/name] for [name]Elias[/name]…I would use the full name. I like [name]Elias[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name].
I like [name]Elias[/name] but prefer [name]Elijah[/name]. Have you considered [name]Silas[/name], [name]Jonas[/name], [name]Curtis[/name], [name]Miles[/name], [name]Tobias[/name], [name]Anders[/name], [name]Harris[/name], or [name]Lars[/name].
I actually really like [name]Elias[/name]. [name]Eli[/name] is a lovely nickname. It has that same feel as [name]Silas[/name], [name]Elijah[/name], [name]Ellis[/name], [name]Titus[/name], etc.
Since it’s so short I don’t think there are really a ton of nicknames, but I think [name]Sal[/name] or [name]Si[/name] or just E could work.
From your favorites I think [name]Elias[/name] [name]Leopold[/name] sounds super cool.
My pick would be [name]Elias[/name] [name]Gideon[/name].
Also, gotta say I absolutely [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Darius[/name]! I love that the Egyptian meaning is “he that informs himself”
[name]Elias[/name] and [name]Milo[/name] are my favorites from your list by far, and since you can’t use [name]Milo[/name], [name]Elias[/name] wins for me! I do like the short form [name]Eli[/name], but I like [name]Elias[/name] enough to use it without a nickname at all.
[name]Elias[/name] [name]Leopold[/name] is also my favorite! I wouldn’t use a nickname either as there are a lot of boys answering to [name]Eli[/name] these days.
My three year old is [name]Elias[/name] [name]Peter[/name]. He goes by [name]Eli[/name] almost exclusively. I also call him Li (pronounced “lie”) but that wasn’t intentional, it just developed organically.
It’s a great name! He loves it. When we were talking about what to name his sister, I told him about all the names we considered for him ([name]Silas[/name], [name]Ezra[/name], [name]Judah[/name], [name]John[/name]) and he said he likes his name best.
Your entire list is so incredibly handsome!
Because I learned how to read in german before I did in english, I have a tendency to want to pronounce names the “german” way so if you pronounced [name]Elias[/name] Eh-lee-as instead of E-lie-us then nn Lias ([name]Lee[/name]-us) is great too.
My first inclination was [name]Elias[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] but by mixing and matching your list [name]Elias[/name] [name]Leopold/name (nn Ee-lo) or [name]Henry[/name] [name]Elias[/name] (nn Helius/Helias?) stand out.
I would get a dog named [name_u]Elias[/name_u]. His birthday is [name_u]June[/name_u] 6.
Though I think, does the name [name_u]Elijah[/name_u] have something more?
A cat named [name_u]Elijah[/name_u]! Elijah’s birthday is [name_u]July[/name_u] 7, my birthday.
I really like [name_u]Elias[/name_u] - it’s probably my favourite of the “Eli-” names. I find it feels nimble and quick but also quiet and studious.
[name_u]Eli[/name_u] is the only nickname that really springs to mind for me, but I don’t think [name_u]Elias[/name_u] is a name that necessarily requires a nickname.
From your list it feels right next to [name_u]Henry[/name_u], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], and [name_u]Quentin[/name_u]. I might also like it with [name_u]Bennett[/name_u], [name_u]Robin[/name_u], [name_u]Rhys[/name_u], [name_u]Callum[/name_u], and [name_u]Owen[/name_u].
