I’ve only come across one [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] as a girl and that was on Instagram but I think it’s absolutely adorable! [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_f]Gwen[/name_f], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f]
What are your thoughts? What other middles would be good?
It has the qualities of a feminine name, but it’s origin is completely masculine. I would probably imagine her parents were clueless when it came to choosing that name for a girl.
I heard [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] on a girl once in a waiting room and while it did cross my mind that it was a boy’s name, it didn’t raise eyebrows. I think it works.
I like [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_f]Neve[/name_f]
I’m not into the whole “boys names on girls” but [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] would work. I don’t like it but if you can name a girl [name_u]James[/name_u] or [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] then why not [name_m]Elijah[/name_m]? I do think [name_u]Elia[/name_u] is better for a girl though.
I can see it working, though it is extremely popular for boys which would probably cause confusion… have you considered [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]? They sound almost identical to me
I had a Catholic friend who named her daughter [name_f]Liza[/name_f] (lie-zuh). The priest would not accept it, said it wasn’t a saints’ name. So he christened her [name_m]Elijah[/name_m].
We thought it was stupid as [name_f]Liza[/name_f] is a form of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
I know an [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], she’s about kindergarten age and suits her name to a tee. I definitely think it works. I wouldn’t personally use it but if I were to, I’d use…maybe [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] Fleurdelys or [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].
I would probably use [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] or Ilizah, which are similar sounding but wouldn’t have the same issues for the child as a classic boy’s name would - spelling confusion with other names, gender confusion if written down (eg post, appointments, online etc).
