I like it! I’ve never heard of it, but I think its soft sounds and a short form fit really well with today’s trends while still standing out in the crowd. It’s a great name and I liked it on the first glance!

Intriguing, but all I see is an abbreviation of the word eliminate / elimination.

I like it - distinctive yet peaceful in vibe. It gives the feel of [name_m]Callum[/name_m], [name_f]Elias[/name_f], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] and [name_f]Eden[/name_f] but also holds its own. I believe there was a berry who used the name too! (will try to remember who)

I don’t hate it, but it just makes me think of “eliminate”. Perhaps you’d like [name_m]Elam[/name_m], which is a common name among Amish men where I live.

It was @namergirl3 ! I’d never heard of [name_m]Elim[/name_m] before they used it, but it really made me appreciate the name — I especially like its soft, gentle sound.

I really like it !! I love its soft sound, and that it has a trendy start (the [name_f]El[/name_f]- sound that’s so popular nowadays) but a very distinct ending with that -im!

For me it’s too associated with denomination/brand of churches called [name_m]Elim[/name_m] ministries. But it’s a nice name

Also makes me think of Limb though so :woman_shrugging:t2:

I like the name [name_m]Elim[/name_m]! It has such a soft, gentle sound. The visual similarity to the word “elm” makes me associate [name_m]Elim[/name_m] with trees.

I would instinctively pronounce it “eh-leem” and then wonder if it is meant to be “ee-lihm.”

Yep, that’s my son’s name  it makes me so happy to see someone else considering it!

It wasn’t one that we had heard of as a first name (there was a family in my town who had the surname [name_m]Elam[/name_m] though). We were actually wanting to use [name_m]Callum[/name_m] but we learned about [name_m]Elim[/name_m] during our infertility struggle and the meaning and sound quickly encompassed our hearts. Beyond that, I have always had a soft spot for those gentle yet strong names, like [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] and [name_f]Seth[/name_f], and [name_m]Elim[/name_m] fits into that category to me.

He’s 4 now and we have no regrets using the name! He loves it, too. Sometimes people mistake it for [name_m]Liam[/name_m] but it isn’t bothersome to correct them.

As far as pronunciation, it comes out something like ee-lum

It’s the name of a [name_f]Star[/name_f] Trek character, so I think of him. But most people wouldn’t know it, and [name_m]Elim[/name_m] has an soft, appealing sound. It’s nice!
