Elina?

Right now I’m developing a crush on the name [name]Elina[/name]. in fact I’m considering using it. So what do you think of it? Prounounced like [name]Eleena[/name]. So are there any big drawbacks you can think of to this name? I’m trying to conceive and live in the U.S. and possible nickname would be [name]Elle[/name] or maybe even [name]Lilou[/name] ( since her middle would most likely be [name]Louise[/name] in honor of my g. grandmother). [name]TIA[/name]!

I think [name]Elena[/name] (spelled this way) is classy and beautiful. I’d use it in a heartbeat.

Something about the [name]Elina[/name] spelling spoils it for me a bit, though.

I agree with the above poster. I prefer [name]Elena[/name] over [name]Elina[/name]. But [name]Elena[/name]/[name]Elina[/name] [name]Louise[/name] is really pretty! And [name]Isaac[/name] and [name]Elena[/name] sound and look nice together.

I like [name]Elina[/name] and would pronounce it EH-lee-nah, whereas [name]Elena[/name] is Eh-lay-nah to me.

A lovely name! I love the nn [name]Lina[/name] (lee-nah)

[name]Love[/name] [name]Elina[/name]! I pn it Eh-lee-na and I pn [name]Elena[/name] eh-layna

I think [name]Elina[/name] is nice. I don’t love it, but there is nothing wrong with it either. The pronunciation and spelling are simple enough it shouldn’t be problematic. Some people might pronounce it [name]ELL[/name]-eh-nah instead of [name]EL[/name]-lee-nah. no biggy.

I agree with Bonnielyn and Clocktower, [name]Eline[/name] and [name]Elena[/name] would be pronounced differently to me as well. That being said I do prefer [name]Elena[/name].

I also prefer [name]Helena[/name], Hélène and a few of the other variants.

I like [name]Elina[/name] although I prefer [name]Elena[/name] or [name]Alina[/name], it goes great with mn [name]Louise[/name] and I think [name]Lilou[/name] is a cute nn!

I prefer [name]Alina[/name], but [name]Elina[/name] is one I’ve been considering lately. I absolutely adore this name. [name]Elina[/name] [name]Louise[/name] is darling.

This is what I was thinking. I do prefer [name]Alina[/name] but [name]Elina[/name] (and [name]Alena[/name]) have grown on me recently.

I prefer [name]Alina[/name] as well, I like them both as I love the nickname [name]Lina[/name]

I prefer [name]Elina[/name] (this spelling) to [name]Alina[/name] and [name]Eline[/name]… etc.

[name]Elena[/name] and [name]Elina[/name] are completely different names to me. I like both.

I prefer [name]Aline[/name] or [name]Meline[/name].
