Which spelling do you prefer and why? I’ve been really into this name lately, and I like the [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] variant the most. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it would get misspelled a lot? If you met a person with this name, what would you assume the spelling was?
Elliot looks most “correct” to me Might get misspelled sometimes but it would be an easy correction. I’d assume either [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] or [name_u]Elliott[/name_u].
I prefer [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] it’s the one I would assume
elliott is my favourite, but if i met one i would assume it’s spelt elliot
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is what I would assume, but I prefer [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] myself! [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] is also quite nice. It may get misspelt but since this is such a common name I doubt it would be a problem to fix it.
Elliott is probably my favourite but I also like [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]
Elliott - double L, double T. Feels most balanced to me.
It will definitely get misspelled though lol
My fave is [name_u]Eliott[/name_u]
Elliott is my favorite spelling, followed by [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]
I get slightly different vibes from each spelling, ranging from a more classic and established vibe for [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] to a youthful and fun vibe for [name_u]Elliot[/name_u].
For my own list this means
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] > [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] > [name_u]Eliott[/name_u] > [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]
I’d assume [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and I prefer that and [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]. It switches every time
It’s easier for me to remember [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] because it has all the possible doubles or [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] because it has none of the doubles. Having your name misspelled feels inevitable to me no matter what you choose.
My preference is [name_u]Elliot[/name_u].
I prefer [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]!
All are used. I like the simplicity of [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] best.
I also like the [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] spelling the most and agree with @ethelmary that it looks most “correct”. [name_u]Eliott[/name_u] looks the least correct to me and I don’t know that I’ve seen it actually used but the other three I have. I’m sure that any spelling of [name_u]Eliot[/name_u]/Elliot/Elliott/Eliott would get spelled in any of the alternate ways plenty - there are so many accepted spellings of it that people would just take a guess unless you specified “two Ls, one T” or whichever you settled on. If I had to spell it having met someone I think I’d err toward [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] but I hope I would just be able to ask them which spelling they use.
For me it’s
Elliot > [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] > [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] > [name_u]Eliott[/name_u]
I named my baby [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]. I liked the balanced look of two ls and ts. However, people do misspell it as [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] which really bugs me. I hope its not too hard for my son to deal with.
From research I did when naming him, all 4 spellings are “correct” so its just a preference thing. I do think Elliot is more common but I had also seen Elliott used and again, just liked the balanced look of it. Ive never seen just Eliot - it feels like it’s missing something to me, although would be simple. I do think Eliott is kinda cool but I didn’t mind 2 ls. 2 ts for some reason feels really right for me.
Elliott has always felt the most balanced to me!
Elliot is my favorite and looks the most balanced to me, although I also have a fondness for [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] because of the poet TS [name_u]Eliot[/name_u]. All spellings are technically correct, but I think probably any of them would be mistaken occasionally for one of the others. I believe [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is the most common though which might cause the least confusion.
