I like the sound of [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Bella[/name_f] better.

We considered that. DH’s great grandma was [name_f]Bella[/name_f]. It seemed a little trendy now with the Twilight series, plus I know a [name_f]Bella[/name_f] who is not very appealing.

Anybody else agree re: [name_f]Bella[/name_f] vs. [name_f]Belle[/name_f]?

I quite like [name_f]Elira[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]! It is sophisticated, elegant, and a bit unexpected.

[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] has the wonderful association with [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] Silvertongue from the His Dark Materials trilogy.

[name_f]Elira[/name_f] is more obscure but has a very pretty sound.

I really like [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and [name_f]Bella[/name_f] as names, but I think [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] flows better and sounds/looks prettier, despite me loving [name_f]Bella[/name_f] more as a standalone name.

I love [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]. [name_f]Elira[/name_f] is pretty but I prefer [name_f]Elora[/name_f] (which sounds more like [name_f]Laura[/name_f] too). [name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] would be lovely. Good luck!

I think I prefer [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] slightly more especially with brother [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m].

I love both of those names! I’ve never heard of [name_f]Elira[/name_f] before, but it sounds like a really cool name and goes great with [name_f]Belle[/name_f].

I think both names are lovely but I chose Lyra Belle. Both names share some sounds with Gabriel, but Elira is even closer than Lyra, so I chose based on that. I liked the suggestion of Elora as well.

You seem to like R, L, and EE sounds in names, and names that are kind of ancient and regal and musical (at least to me), so, some suggestions if you’re really stuck:

Thanks, berries! [name_f]Elira[/name_f] is Albanian and means “free.” DH wants the potential for an [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] nn, so that’s why I’m leaning towards [name_f]Elira[/name_f]. I don’t see myself calling her [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] though. [name_u]Ever[/name_u]. If anything I’d end up calling her 'Lira [name_f]Belle[/name_f].

But I do agree that [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] flows a little better. One question I have is that my name is [name_f]Marisa[/name_f], the baddie in His Dark Materials. Would [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] use that against me in a fight? :wink: Is that too weird/much of a coincidence?
