Eliza?

[name_f]Do[/name_f] we think [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is going to be the new [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] popularity wise? I love the name and know it’s not uncommon but we have a very common last name and I hate to name our daughter “[name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]”. Thanks ladies!

I don’t think it will be anywhere near as popular “[name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]”
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is beautiful and in a perfect spot on the popularity charts. I think it will probably rise a bit but I don’t think it will come close to [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]. There are still a few associations [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] has that prevent people from 100% committing to it.

I think [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] has been hovering around and gaining a little more popularity, but never let that stop you from using it!
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is much prettier than [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] (to me, anyways!) and I didn’t think [name_f]Lila[/name_f] was as popular as those two?
I don’t really see it being a top ten name, but even if it were, there are less and less babies being named top ten names these days

I seriously doubt it. [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] was only #200 in 2013 —*that’s 0.084% percent of baby girls. Keep in mind the US has a large hispanic population and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] doesn’t work very well in Spanish so I think it would be difficult for it to rise to Top 10 popularity. And even if it did, names don’t become popular over night —*assuming you have a daughter in the next few years, she’d be a few years older than the hypothetical new wave of Elizas.

[name_m]Even[/name_m] if you had an [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] or an [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] I don’t think it would be a huge problem. Popular names aren’t as common as they used to be.

[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is beautiful. One of the names my husband vetoed for my daughter. I don’t see it being uber popular any time soon.

I have an [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] (seven months old) and have yet to meet another. She is in full time daycare (so I do know quite a few other babies), and we’re in Michigan, USA. I get a lot of compliments on it. I think your “competition” would be Elizabeths. Most [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]'s don’t go by [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], but does it bother you that such a similar, related name is so close to the top?
