Elizabeth or Elisabeth?

Elizabeth if you like the nn [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] if you like the nn [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]

Hmm I like both but I think I prefer [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] slightly more.

Elizabeth. [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] is more European. Plus, I like [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f]. I do like the overall vibe of [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] better, but [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is better as a real name and not just a hypothetical.

I like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] better!

Depending on where you’re from…

If it’s an [name_f]English[/name_f]-speaking country, where z’s do not present a problem, then [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].

If you live in a romance-language country, or where z’s pose problems, then [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f].

If you’re liking [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] is a perfectly fine name on its own. Whereas [name_f]Liza[/name_f] benefits from the fullness of [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]/Elizabeth.

Definitely [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]!! mostly because I strongly dislike [name_f]Liz[/name_f].

We will go with the s spelling if we are having a girl (it’s one of the middle names), but we are based in [name_m]Germany[/name_m] and will have the opposite misspelling problem if we go with a z! Agree with the others that the s is more of a Central European thing.

I prefer [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]

Elizabeth and [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] sound different so go with whatever sounds nicest to you. Haha but as an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], I’m much more biased towards my own name. Best of luck!

I could see what nicknames you like or dislike playing a role. For instance, if you are not a big fan of [name_f]Liz[/name_f]/Lizzie and would prefer [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], choosing [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] might make more sense. If you are using [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] to get to [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], choose the z spelling.

I think it depends on your location.
In US- the Z spelling is more common and would be spelled incorrectly less.
