I think [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] is the only one that she won’t meet many others with the same name. I do want to mention, because many people seem to think it’s pronounced [name_f]ELL[/name_f]-oh-wen - that really it’s pronounced ell-OH-wen which seems to turn people off of it. I think it’s beautiful and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is my favorite nn for it!
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_u]Everly[/name_u], and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] are a dime a dozen, and I prefer [name_f]Evie[/name_f] as a nn for [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_u]Everly[/name_u].
All of your middle name choices are far too masculine, but if I had to choose, I’d say [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] is your best choice. Your older daughter has a much more popular and feminine name though that it almost seems unfair, tbh.
I voted [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], but my only concern would be that the end sound is similar to [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. Not too much though. [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] Arlowe would be nice. [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_u]Marlow[/name_u], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Monet[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]?
Some other full names for [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]/[name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f]/[name_f]Mirabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Elora[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliora[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. My best friend just named her daughter [name_f]Elisa[/name_f] and they call her [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] for short. I also know an [name_f]Eliana[/name_f]. Other names I like with nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_u]Everly[/name_u]
[name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Chantelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
I love the more masculine middle names. I don’t think it’s unfair.
I like [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]. I would encourage you to not shorten it. If you want [name_f]Ella[/name_f], just use [name_f]Ella[/name_f].
[name_m]Just[/name_m] thought it was worth mentioning ¯_(ツ)_/¯
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] has a very pretty lilting sound and your MN choices for this child seem vastly different.
I also think that [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] sound like perfect sisters.
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] are too similar for sisters imo.
If you like [name_f]Ella[/name_f], I’d use [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. I agree that [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] make a lovely sibset.
From your poll, I like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] best, but that lends itself to the nickname [name_f]Evie[/name_f], not [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].
If you want to call you daughter [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], chances are she won’t be the only [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] in her class, no matter what her longer name is. There are a lot of “[name_f]El[/name_f]” names popular right not, and many of those girls get called [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].
Completely agree. [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is a great name, but overall it seems like you are trying too hard to avoid the common name that you want to give her. Name her [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] sound great together.
I love [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], and would vastly prefer this spelling. I’m not a particular fan of the others, but [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is my second choice.
My favourite [name_f]El[/name_f]- name currently is [name_f]Eliora[/name_f] (el-ee-ora), though I like [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] and [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] too.
My daughter’s name is [name_f]Melody[/name_f] and we call her [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. So maybe something that doesnt directly lead to the nn [name_f]Ella[/name_f] or [name_f]Elli[/name_f] would work? If not [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is pretty, but im biased. Out of your choices [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is my favorite.
This ^
Also, as another PP said, [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] & [name_f]Everleigh[/name_f]/[name_u]Everly[/name_u]/[name_m]Everley[/name_m] are both extremely popular right now.
I voted for the name Elowyn (although I do prefer it spelled the traditional way - [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] - and I adore the nickname [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] for [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]. I dislike [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] because it reminds me very old ladies.
If you want [name_f]Elli[/name_f]/[name_f]Ella[/name_f], you could look for names that end in ‘-el’ too. Think [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f], [name_f]Danielle[/name_f], etc. opens up some options.
[name_u]Everly[/name_u] is my favourite, but I would use [name_f]Evie[/name_f] for short. For [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Ella[/name_f], I love Elowyn! (I slightly prefer it spelt [name_f]Elowen[/name_f])
Elowyn [name_u]Reese[/name_u] is so lovely! - Although [name_u]Reese[/name_u] does rhyme with [name_f]Elise[/name_f] but I don’t think this is a problem!
And I like your choice to use a more masculine middle name!
