I’m stuck between naming a girl [name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Aura[/name_f] or [name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Elara[/name_f].
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] would be for her great great grandmother & [name_f]Aura[/name_f] because I like the meaning and sound. [name_f]Leda[/name_f] as a first name is a definite. I don’t know if I should go with 2 middle names or just use the name [name_f]Elara[/name_f] because it’s pronounced the same…it’s just like the two names together. Also [name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Aura[/name_f] F______o. would give her the initials L.E.A.F which I’m okay with because it could honor a close friend who’s actually a botanist. I just don’t know which sounds/looks better…
I personally do not pronounce [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Aura[/name_f] and [name_f]Elara[/name_f] the same ([elarə] vs [el-orə]).
Anyway, I think when honouring a person it’s always better to use the actual name. [name_f]Elle[/name_f] and [name_f]Aura[/name_f] are two nice names with pretty meanings, [name_f]Elara[/name_f] pales in comparison.
Vote for [name_f]Elara[/name_f] ([name_f]Elara[/name_f] is my newest crush, so I’m biased :p) I like Also [name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Aura[/name_f] F______o. (L.E.A.F), but I’m not sure I like the 2-1-2 syllables in a combo.
Like sugarplumfairy, I’d pronounce [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Aura[/name_f] differently to [name_f]Elara[/name_f].
[name_f]Elara[/name_f]
[name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Elara[/name_f] looks neater (less cluttered, I suppose) than [name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Aura[/name_f]. But I find it a bit bland and trendy.
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Aura[/name_f]
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Aura[/name_f] works better if you’re honoring an [name_f]Elle[/name_f]. It also just sounds nicer to me - it’s very pretty and delicate, almost fairylike. Plus, you have the [name_u]LEAF[/name_u] initials.
So [name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Aura[/name_f] gets my vote.
I love [name_f]Leda[/name_f]!
[name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Aura[/name_f] doesn’t flow very well, but I like [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Aura[/name_f] more than [name_f]Elara[/name_f]. I don’t pronounce [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Aura[/name_f] and [name_f]Elara[/name_f] the same at all…
[name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Elara[/name_f] has better flow, but [name_f]Elara[/name_f] seems very insubstantial to me…
Would [name_f]Aurelle[/name_f] be an option? [name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Aurelle[/name_f] is gorgeous! [name_f]Aurelle[/name_f] is listed as a variant of [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], [name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is perhaps even more wonderful, but the [name_f]Elle[/name_f] part would be a little hard to see…
Is there something special about your great great grandmother to make you want to use [name_f]Elle[/name_f]? If not, I would probably just go with [name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Aura[/name_f] if those are the two names you actually love. I don’t see the point of making it more troublesome by including [name_f]Elle[/name_f] for a great great grandmother whom I can only assume you’ve never met, unless said [name_f]Elle[/name_f] was an awesome woman…
I’d go with [name_f]Elora[/name_f], rather than [name_f]Elara[/name_f] (which like a pp said is pronounced differently) or [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Aura[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Aurielle[/name_f] would be nicer - it would still make a good tribute for [name_f]Elle[/name_f] & [name_f]Aura[/name_f], I like the extra length as opposed to [name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Elara[/name_f] (which I also find to be too repetitive sounding with all the As and Ls). Also [name_f]Elora[/name_f] I think is more widely known as a name than [name_f]Elara[/name_f] is, and it has a bit of a different sound to differentiate it & stop it from running on with [name_f]Leda[/name_f].
I’m not crazy about [name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Aura[/name_f] - I think its too many short names & one middle often gets dropped for documents & such. The initials L.E.A.F. are a cool thought but I don’t think enough of a reason to use 2 middles instead of 1.
I like [name_f]Elle[/name_f], but [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Aura[/name_f] sounds very strange together. So I have to go with [name_f]Elara[/name_f], although I think [name_f]Elle[/name_f] by itself would be great.
