Ellie as a nickname for Isabel?

My partner and I both love [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], but I’m not crazy about the nicknames [name_u]Izzy[/name_u], or [name_f]Belle[/name_f]. Is [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] too far of a stretch as a nickname?

I don’t think it’s too much a stretch [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] - [name_f]Belle[/name_f]/[name_f]Elle[/name_f] - [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], it’s just not instinctive to me.

Though I adore the name [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], and not [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is an entirely different name to me and people will be inclined to think she’s an [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or something like that.

[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] is our top girl’s name. We like Isby as a nickname.

For me it would be too much of a stretch to be honest. My name is [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] and I usually go by [name_u]Isa[/name_u], [name_m]Isi[/name_m] (which I hate :D) or [name_f]Bella[/name_f].

I don’t think its a stretch at all, but [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is just about my favorite nn for any name, ever! I love it!

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Elle[/name_f]?

I think it’s a bit of a stretch but I do understand how you got there. I do like the name [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] but it’s popular and so is [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. But of course that means lots of people will usually like it too.
