What do you think of the first name ‘[name_u]Elliot[/name_u]’ for a girl? Is it too masculine? Or does it work nicely?
Other names I like are [name_u]Avery[/name_u] and [name_u]Riley[/name_u], so quite masculine names. Are there any other boyish girl names I’d like?
The one girl I’ve met named [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]… the name didn’t fit her. It’s not my least favorite boy name for a girl but it’s not my style as a girl’s name. I find it much more masculine than [name_u]Avery[/name_u] and [name_u]Riley[/name_u], since I’ve met several girls with those names (only girls named [name_u]Avery[/name_u], actually) so I associate [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] as a boy name but [name_u]Riley[/name_u] and [name_u]Avery[/name_u] as unisex names. I think the nickname [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is sweet, and she could also go by [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] if she wants something more feminine. [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] also makes me think of [name_u]Emery[/name_u]/[name_u]Emory[/name_u] which I love on a girl.
These are my favorite unisex/boy names on girls. Maybe you’ll like one too:
[name_u]Reilly[/name_u]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_u]Schuyler[/name_u]/[name_u]Skyler[/name_u]
[name_u]Mica[/name_u]/[name_u]Micah[/name_u]
[name_u]Remy[/name_u]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u]/[name_u]Emory[/name_u]
[name_m]Quinlan[/name_m]
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_u]Piper[/name_u]
[name_u]Ryan[/name_u]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u]
[name_f]Marlo[/name_f]
Thank you! I love [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_u]Micah[/name_u] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u]” Never heard [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] for a girl, but I think that works too! Cute!
I know a darling baby [name_u]Elliott[/name_u], so to me, it sounds fine as a girl’s name. I would second [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] though, as I think it’s a fantastic name for boy or girl.
I prefer it as a boys name, but I think it could work on a girl. I do prefer the spelling [name_f]Eliette[/name_f] for a girl, though (which I know I’m probably alone in that opinion on here).
I love [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] for a girl, though I’m in a minority of Berries who genuinely adores unisex names for girls. I second the suggestions of [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_u]Piper[/name_u], but I’d also add:
[name_u]Emmett[/name_u] ([name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] was on my list for a long time)
[name_u]Sloan[/name_u]/[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] (I prefer the “e” for a girl)
[name_u]Parker[/name_u]
[name_m]Roman[/name_m]
[name_u]Logan[/name_u]
[name_u]Barrett[/name_u]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u]
[name_u]Murphy[/name_u]
[name_u]Emmett[/name_u] and [name_u]Parker[/name_u] are two of my absolute favourites for boys, but I’ve never thought about them as girls names! I like them, though! I also much prefer unisex names for girls, I never really get attached to extremely feminine names.
It’s really not a unisex name to me but a boys’ name used for girls (same as [name_u]James[/name_u]), I don’t like it at all.
The [name_m]French[/name_m] [name_f]Eliette[/name_f], as a pp mentioned is much nicer on a girl.
I think the boys names (as in non historically or trough origin unisex) that work best on girls are the ones that aren’t very popular for boys.
Typically I’m not a fan of unisex names or boy names on girls. Although I think [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is fine for a girl and it has the cute nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. And as others have said you can always spell it different to make it look more feminine.
I think it works fine on a girl. I think the [name_f]El[/name_f]- beginning fits in perfectly well with other girl names ([name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Eleni[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]/[name_f]Elise[/name_f]/[name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Ellen[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], [name_f]Elysia[/name_f], [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], [name_f]Eliora[/name_f], [name_f]Eliana[/name_f]…) But I still really adore [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] on a boy!

I love both [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] & [name_u]Riley[/name_u] for a girl! I think they’re very cute, and I love the [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] nn she could have. I also love [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] has been one of my favorites for a long time, and I’ve surprisingly known more girls with the name [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] than boys with it!
I absolutely adore [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] for a girl! I imagine a spunky sweetheart named [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]! ”
