I love [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]!! I agree that it being associated with Frozen is a bit of a drag. I wonder if Frozen will lose it’s steam though in the next few years. By the time the child is school aged will Frozen be a thing? :woman_shrugging:

I love it, but kids will definitely tease her because of the association with the character. I recommend usilg it as a middle.

Also, you can use the nickname [name_f]Elle[/name_f]. Your daughter may want to be called that in the case that she gets teased about it. I find it unlikely she would, but you never know- [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] and others are still popular today even after decades, but don’t worry about it.

If anything, the other kids will be jealous their names aren’t [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]. She is the popular and beloved [name_f]Queen[/name_f] among young girls.

I think it is a very pretty name, and the association shouldn’t turn you away, I understand why it might though.

This old thread was resurrected, so I wanted to add my two cents in case anyone is considering this name. I have an [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], named 3 years before the movie came out. I was concerned when the movie first came out, but it has been a complete non issue. She was a shy 3 year old and didn’t like the attention when the movie first came out (it was all positive attention, though…basically little girls being insanely jealous of her name, lol). She is in middle school now, which are the prime teasing years, and she never gets teased about it or even referenced to the movie. Not once has anyone ever said or sang ‘Let it Go’ to her. She could go by [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] if the name [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] bothered her, but she truly loves her name and wants to be called [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]. I still love the name and have no regrets.

I love [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], it is my heart name, I will use it for a daughter if I can. It is beautiful and even though there is Frozen it just shines so much for me. I like [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f].
