[name]Hitch[/name] do you like better an why? [name]Elyse[/name] or [name]Elise[/name]?
I like [name]Elise[/name] because it looks more classic. [name]Elyse[/name] looks a little trendy.
I also prefer [name]Elise[/name]. Inserting a -y where it doesn’t really belong cheapens the name to me.
[name]Elise[/name] … No question.
Definitely [name]Elise[/name]. Besides the fact that I just think it’s prettier, changing the spelling of a classic name is even worse than making up a name to me. It’s like [name]Jayne[/name] or Audreigh or Abeegayle. It just takes away the appeal.
Usually I don’t like trendy spellings but I don’t mind the y here. That said I do marginally prefer the traditional i spelling.
I agree, but I like trendy, relatively normal spellings.
[name]Elise[/name] because [name]Elyse[/name] looks odd. I much prefer traditional spellings
[name]Elise[/name] - I can’t stand unnecessary “y”/vowel swaps.
I like [name]Elise[/name]- more classic!
The y in [name]Elyse[/name] seems unnecessary. I prefer [name]Elise[/name] so much more. No question about it.
Voice of dissent but I prefer [name]Elyse[/name]
When you see [name]Elyse[/name] it looks like you say [name]Ellis[/name] so definitely go with [name]Elise[/name].
I definitely like [name]Elise[/name]. [name]Elyse[/name] seems trendy, and the y is unnecessary. Plus, I’ll always think of classical music and romantic beauty with [name]Elise[/name]. I don’t get that with the y spelling.
[name]Elise[/name]… Nothing worse than growing up with a name you have to spell out to everyone
[name]Elise[/name] by far! The y is trendy and unnecessary. It also lessens the name for me. I also know an Aleece, I do prefer Elyse over that. The i is the best, though.
I’ve known a couple of [name]Elyse[/name]'s, and they both spelled it like this. I didn’t even realize [name]Elise[/name] was the same name until you posted this, lol. I’m usually not a big fan of changing names for the sake of uniqueness/trendiness, but I think the [name]Elyse[/name] spelling has nearly as long a history as [name]Elise[/name] (although my spellcheck disagrees, so perhaps not). I prefer the y, personally, but only because it’s familiar to me.
[name]Elise[/name]. [name]Elyse[/name] looks like a kr8iv3 spelling. [name]Elise[/name] is the more practical and better known spelling.
[name]Elise[/name] looks cleaner and classier.
I’m normally annoyed by an unnecessary y, but I taught an [name]Elyse[/name] and she was such a lovely young lady that I prefer her spelling.
