Thoughts on [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] for a girl?

I know several little Emerson’s / Emersyn’s ! I think it’s a great name ! A few of them so by [name_f]Em[/name_f] or [name_f]Emmie[/name_f] and one goes by [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] !

I strongly prefer [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] on a boy, but it’s a cool name.

Makes me think of [name_u]Ellington[/name_u] as well, nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Elle[/name_f]

I love [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] for a masc name. It’s strong and soft at the same time, and I love the literary vibe.

Personally, using names that end in -son for femmes is one of my pet peeves (because they literally mean “son of ___”), but I like the potential for [name_f]Emma[/name_f] as a nickname. I would choose something like [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Emeraude[/name_f] to get there though.

I have a seven year old granddaughter [name_f]Emersyn[/name_f] and she is just the sweetest!!!

I really like it for both boys and girls especially since it’s a variation of my own name.
