What are your thoughts on

Emery

Do you prefer it on a girl or boy?

[name_u]Emery[/name_u] is quite nice - it has a simple and cheerful sound. I don’t mind it on any gender, though I do like this spelling best if it’s for a girl

It’s a fair name. I’m pretty neutral on it I think - it’s not bad but it’s not overly exciting either. By sound and look I prefer [name_u]Emery[/name_u] on a girl (and [name_m]Emeric[/name_m] on a boy).

I only know a boy (man) with this name in real life, however I definitely like if for a girl more!

I like it for any gender, not just girls or boys! I think it’s sweet and it has a nice, bouncy sort of sound.

So, this is actually my name. Lol. Spelled differently tho. I’ve grown to really love my name for me and I really can’t imagine being named anything else. I’ve gotten compliments on it my whole life.

I’ve met several people, both boys and girls, named [name_u]Emery[/name_u] (w/ various other spellings) and it works equally well. I personally prefer it for the middle spot for boys tho.

It’s alright but not really my taste. It sounds like a mispronounced version of [name_f]Emily[/name_f] to me.

For a girl I would prefer [name_f]Emily[/name_f] or [name_f]Emera[/name_f]. For a boy, I would prefer [name_u]Emmett[/name_u].

It’s sweet! I find it very gender neutral, but I personally prefer it on a boy.

I prefer it on a boy. It has a heavy sound which works better for boys, I think.

[name_u]Emery[/name_u] is my name, and I am a girl. I have had this conversation, and usually, people say that they see [name_u]Emory[/name_u] as more male and [name_u]Emery[/name_u] as more feminine.

It’s okay! I’m fairly neutral on it overall. I’ve been seeing it used somewhat often these days. One friend is using it for a girl. Another friend nearly used it for a girl. Someone from church used it for a boy. I don’t have a preference, really…

Boys, because of a book character I’ve heard of where the name was used on a grown man.

It’s always read as a “girl’s” name to me, personally, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see it on a boy and think it’s perfectly suitable for any gender.

The name isn’t my own cup of tea— I prefer [name_u]Everly[/name_u] or [name_u]Remy[/name_u] and am just not an “Em-” name lover in general —but it’s perfectly nice and I don’t see any issues with it! If you love it, go for it
