If the pronunciation is the same, I prefer the spelling [name_m]Emil[/name_m]. It’s sleek, straightforward and I believe it’s the more familiar spelling.
I like the sound of [name_m]Emil[/name_m] more (I pronounce them differently) & how it’s more universal and multicultural!
I like [name_m]Emil[/name_m] more visually, but am leaning toward voting for [name_m]Emile[/name_m]. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]My[/name_f] dad has a good friend named Em!l whose name is pronounced EE-muhl instead of eh-MEEL and I don’t like that at all [name_f][/name_f]. I believe he is Romanian or from somewhere around there, not sure if that’s a traditional pronunciation?
[name_m]Emil[/name_m] is my preference – he looks a little more familiar and straightforward.
[name_m]Emile[/name_m] is throwing me off. The final e is making me think it is pronounced like [name_f]Emily[/name_f], even though I assume that it isn’t?
I think that’s where I’m landing too! [name_m]Even[/name_m] though emil does look a bit unfinished to me…
I’d pronouce it eh-MEEL
[name_m]Emil[/name_m]
I prefer the sleek distinguished feel of [name_m]Emil[/name_m]
I prefer the succinctness of [name_m]Emil[/name_m]
