Emma or Erana/Erena?

Which name is your favourite

[name_f]Emma[/name_f] OR Erana/[name_f]Erena[/name_f]?

We are leaning towards the spelling with an ‘a’ as I think it looks a bit more feminine.

Middle name (not set yet) is possibly [name_m]Keir[/name_m] which is my Grandmas maiden name.

Thoughts very much appreciated - even if you have another name suggestion!

Thanks

[name_f]Emma[/name_f]. Erana is fine.

What about Elysant, [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], Nimue, [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]…

[name_f]Emma[/name_f]. Never heard of Erana. It sounds ok but I prefer [name_f]Emma[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Emma[/name_f], but [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_m]Keir[/name_m] is off. For that reason, I think [name_f]Erena[/name_f] [name_m]Keir[/name_m] is nice and I’d stick with the [name_f]Erena[/name_f] spelling.

[name_f]Emma[/name_f]. I’m not sure how to pronounce [name_f]Erena[/name_f]. Err-eena? Ee-reena? Ee-rayna? Ee-renna?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m],

Thanks so much for your input. We are 38 weeks so running out of time to think of a name. (We have no options for a boys name so far). We already have [name_m]Jake[/name_m] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] as the older siblings.

My thoughts on [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is that it is a nice classic name but can be popular. You can always count on there being another [name_f]Emma[/name_f]. It is easy to pronounce which is important to us. One of those names I have always had in the back of my mind if that makes sense. Meaning = universal (so a bit blah)
My Mum had a dream that my sister was pregnant and had a wee girl named [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] which it turned out she was pregnant but with a boy. So now my Mum thinks it would be a perfect name for our baby (we don’t find out gender) which I am not impressed about (second hand name + it means bitter rival) so would [name_f]Emma[/name_f] be too similar?

[name_f]Erena[/name_f] (said [name_f]Erin[/name_f]-a) or Erana (ear-an-na) is a little different
I have come across 2 [name_f]Erena[/name_f]/Eranas. I like that it is unique. It means joyous song or peace. This is a baby that is due on the year anniversary date that I miscarried our last baby.

[name_m]Keir[/name_m] (said keer as in rhymes with deer, leer etc) is we have given our other children family names as middle names which are also my husband and I’s middle names. So wanted something to give to them too.

Sorry for the novel (and probably should have said this in the first place!)

As the siblings are [name_m]Jake[/name_m] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], I think [name_f]Emma[/name_f] fits perfectly instead. Have you thought of variations of [name_m]Keir[/name_m] for the middle (as [name_m]Keir[/name_m] feels completely masculine to me)? If you don’t mind the masculinity, then go for whatever fits most ([name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_m]Keir[/name_m] in my opinion, based on siblings… Otherwise [name_f]Erena[/name_f] [name_m]Keir[/name_m], like I said previously). A variation that comes to mind is [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Keira[/name_f] but it doesn’t really have a good flow (-a and -a). [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Keira[/name_f] would flow better in this case, but I understand that it is kind of second hand to use it for your own child.

Also, have you looked at any other names that have lovely meanings to commemorate the miscarriage? I think this is a sweet gesture and I think your child would feel special to have such a connection. For example, [name_f]Abigail[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Hana[/name_f] and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] are some names that all mean happy/joy etc. If you’re not open to suggestions that’s fine, I guess it’s just something to look at. They all, give or take one or two names, are at the same place on the popularity scale to [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_m]Jake[/name_m].

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] Nameberries,

[name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to give a quick update.

Our wee Miss we were expecting turned out to be a Mr! We took a few days but ended up naming him [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] [name_m]Keir[/name_m]. Thank you for your help

I adore [name_f]Emma[/name_f]; sweet, beautiful, graceful, and charming. I have never heard of Erana/[name_f]Erena[/name_f].

Congratulations. [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] [name_m]Keir[/name_m] is very handsome. I think [name_m]Jake[/name_m], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], and [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] make a great set.

I knew an [name_f]Erena[/name_f] in college and thought her name was so interesting! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it and prefer that spelling…I think Erana is more confusing and the sound is much less appealing imo.

Congratulations on [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] [name_m]Keir[/name_m]! [name_f]Hope[/name_f] everything is perfect

[name_f]Erena[/name_f] is nice. I’m pronouncing it [name_f]ERENa[/name_f]? I think [name_f]Elena[/name_f] (E-len-ah) is a beautiful name that you may like?

Congratulations! [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] [name_m]Keir[/name_m] is a handsome name.

[name_f]Emma[/name_f] is lovely. I also have no idea on how to pronunce [name_f]Erena[/name_f] I’m guessing like [name_f]Irena[/name_f] only with Err at the beginning instead of I?

I like [name_f]Erena[/name_f] the best, with an E. (I’m assuming it’s pronounced [name_f]Erin[/name_f]-uh. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!)
