Here’s the thing, I like both names, and while they aren’t my personal style, I can totally see their merits!

Purely based on sound, I really like [name_f]Emma[/name_f], but it feels a bit oversaturated to me between the probably 10 Emmas I know and easily the 15 Emilys (also a lovely name, just the same issue for me). Popularity isn’t necessarily usually something to scare me off from a great name, but in this case, it has just been so popular for so long that it’s hard to avoid.

[name_f]Ella[/name_f] is lovely, it feels fresh and modern, but has that gorgeous [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m] connection that gives it a bit of older world charm. It has a lovely upbeat sound to it, will age well, and is slightly less omnipresent than [name_f]Emma[/name_f], so that’s why it gets my vote.

Both however are lovely, solid, and classic names! I don’t think you can make a bad decision between the two.

I prefer the light and airy [name_f]Ella[/name_f]

I voted [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. I know so many Emmas of all ages that it just has no sparkle for me at all.

emma is an absolutely gorgeous name!! i love the jane system connection! if i’m honest, i very strongly dislike ella. it just feels so… basic and unexciting.

I love both and if [name_f]Ella[/name_f] were not a word in Spanish I would absolutely use both!
