[name]Hi[/name], I’m not pregnant or anything, but I have been interested in baby names since I was ten years old.
I have a problem, here–I love the name [name]Emmanuel[/name] for a boy, but I hate “[name]Manny[/name].” Does anybody know of any nicknames that would work well with this name? It’s okay if it’s a bit of a stretch because my favorite girl name is [name]Amethyst[/name], with the nickname of [name]Mysti[/name].
Also, what middle names would sound good with this name? I am okay with slightly out of the ordinary names in the middle so long as it is not too weird.
Finally, would [name]Amethyst[/name] and [name]Emmanuel[/name] be too close for siblings?

Does [name]Emmanuel[/name] have to be at first position? Because it often sounds better in the middle. You could call him [name]Emmanuel[/name] anyway.
My cousins name is [name]Noah[/name] [name]Emanuel[/name].
[name]How[/name] about [name]Eli[/name]? Or, you could use initials depending on what letter his middle name starts with. E.T. would be an awesome nickname - perhaps you would like something like [name]Emmanuel[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]? [name]Emmanuel[/name] [name]James[/name] would be awesome and leave you with the possibility of E.J. as a nickname.
I think [name]Emmanuel[/name] is a great name, but agree that [name]Manny[/name] is not so cool.
[name]Emmanuel[/name] is a LOT more traditional than [name]Amethyst[/name]/[name]Mysti[/name], but I don’t think that’s any reason not to use it. Girl names tend to be less traditional than boy names across the board.
[name]Hi[/name], thanks for the responses. My favorite suggestions, so far, are [name]Emmanuel[/name] [name]Dominic[/name] (though I would probably spell it [name]Dominick[/name] after an old friend of mine. and [name]Emmanuel[/name] [name]James[/name], along with the idea to use the initials as the nickname (I have always thought that practice was pretty cute). In fact, when I saw both suggestions, one thought I had was to go with [name]Emmanuel[/name] D_____(I love [name]Dominick[/name], but it doesn’t have to be that, making his initials E.D, which leads me to think that it could then become [name]Eddie[/name]. Any other D names that work with [name]Emmanuel[/name]? Does [name]Dominick[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name] sound better, with [name]Nick[/name] or [name]Nicky[/name] as a nickname?
Also, what boy siblings would sound good with this name?
